It had been a week since Caroline and Bonnie helped Violet and the Salvatores move into Stag Manor. They spent most days with the witch, two vampires, and ghosts. Bonnie had bonded amazingly with Lily Potter, who provided the nature witch with a mother figure she had always craved. The three Marauders brought out the mischievous side of Caroline and also showed her what it's like to have a caring father and uncles in her life. Stefan got along well with Remus, sharing their love for books and history. Things were a little more difficult for Damon, as the three males were still a little cautious about letting him near Violet. But as the days went on, they all started to bond just like the others.
Bonnie and Caroline were currently sitting at the kitchen island in Elena's home, having been called over by the brunette who sounded a little down in the dumps over the phone. The two knew they hadn't been as involved in Elena's life as before but they felt that the moment they met Violet Potter-Peverell, they finally understood and saw what a healthy friendship truly was.
"Oh, hey girls!" Jenna greeted the pair as she entered the room, looking between them and Elena with a small frown as she sensed slight awkwardness between the trio.
"Hey Jenna" They responded in unison, earning a little laugh from the older woman as she grabbed some food from the fridge.
"Where's Jeremy?" Jenna asked Elena, who looked up from her phone to finally acknowledge her presence. However, all she received was a shrug in response before the brunette turned her attention back to her phone.
"I think he's gone to the grill, we saw him heading that way" Caroline decided to answer, shooting Elena a disapproving look before sending Jenna a small smile.
"You two seem happier" The older woman commented after a few moments of observing them. Bonnie and Caroline exchanged a look, smiles blossoming on their faces as they too noticed the difference in how they felt, not only about themselves but about their friendship and life in general.
"They seem the same to me" Elena scoffed, eyeing the pair with a look of suspicion in her eyes. She knew they were avoiding her and had even noticed them spending time with Stefan, Damon and that new woman who was always attached at the hip to the older Salvatore brother. She couldn't understand why Bonnie and Caroline would abandon her, especially for a bitch like Violet. It angers her beyond belief that they get to spend time with Stefan and Damon, and yet Elena can't get the two hot brothers to give her the time of day.
"Right..." Jenna shot her niece an odd look, noticing her recent behaviour and was not pleased by it whatsoever.
Meanwhile, Jeremy was at the Mystic Grill with Matt, who had spent the last twenty minutes going on about Elena and his desire to rekindle their relationship. Jeremy couldn't understand why Matt was so obsessed with his older sister, she was nothing but toxic and would do anything to make herself seem like the better person in whatever relationship and friendship she had.
"Ty! Don't do that, not while I'm working" Jeremy and Matt looked over at another table, where Tyler and Vicki were standing. Matt's face scrunched up in disgust, seeing his best friend touch his older sister sexually, all while the older girl kept glancing at Jeremy in hopes the stoner would get jealous and react.
"She's my sister and I love her, but sometimes she can really make you work for it" Jeremy raised an eyebrow as he turned his attention back to Matt, who looked downright exhausted by his older sister's behaviour. Jeremy could tell that his sister's ex thought Jeremy was still hooked on the older girl, but he truly had no intention of going near Viki Donovan ever again.
"Not to be rude, but it isn't fucking worth it" Matt was taken back by Jeremy's attitude towards his sister, watching as the younger boy walked off towards the bar and not once glancing in Vicki's direction.
