Chapter 10

Barry's POV

"Katie has more scar tissue than a 22 year old girl should have. And there's an interesting burn mark on her right shoulder blade. Katie was branded. The sister you knew three years ago may not be the one that is here right now." The doctor said.

"Can I see her?" I asked as we stood outside her room.

The doctor opened the door to reveal Katie and Oliver staring out the window.

Katie was wearing a blue long sleeve athletic shirt and black pants. Oliver was wearing a white short sleeve shirt with black pants.

Katie's POV

"Katie..." I heard Barry murmur behind me.

I turned around and gave a small smile, "Barry..."

I tackled him in a hug burying my face in the crook of his neck, "I missed you..." I felt a few tears drip onto his shirt.

"I missed you too..." He murmured and pulled away. "But there is someone else who missed you way more than I did."

Barry walked over and opened the door wider.

Max bursted through the door and jumped up so his front paws were on my shoulders and licked my face.

"I missed you too buddy!" I chuckled.

Barry and Oliver shook hands and hugged it out.

"Thank you for taking care of my sister." Barry murmurs.

"Not a problem." Oliver replied.

Thea and everyone else came into the room.

"Thea!!!!!" I yelled and squeezed her in a hug.

"I can't believe you two were stuck on the island, again!!!" She exclaimed.

I hugged Felicity and Diggle.

"Let's go home! I'm starving!" I suggested.

"I can make a quick run to Big Belly Burger." Barry offered.

I nodded hastily and shoved him out the door.

"So what was it like? Actually being stranded there." Thea asked taking the lead with me.

I stopped in my tracks and Felicity almost stepped on my shoes, "Scary. Very scary."

"How did you deal with it?" She continued on turning back to me.

I shrugged and continued down the hallway towards the elevator.

Oliver came and wrapped his arm around me as we all packed into the elevator.

"Hey Olly what do you think our cities will do when we come back? Don't you think they'll put it together?" I asked when the doors closed.

"Nah I think we'll be okay." He shrugged.

"Both Central and Starling City have gone into chaos. Barry kept a lot of it under control in Central City and Diggle and Laurel handled Starling." Thea explained.

"Wait, Laurel?!" Oliver's jaw dropped.

"We tried stopping her man but she wouldn't listen!" Diggle threw his hands up in defense.

I face palmed, "First day back and we're already arguing."

Thea patted my shoulder, "That's family!"

I shook my head as we got outside and packed into our cars heading back to the house.
