Katie's POV Next Day
"Barry there's something I need to tell you..." I said walking downstairs into the living room with Max.
"Sure where's Oliver?" He asked his eyes searching up the stairs.
"He's still asleep." I sat down on the far side of the couch away from my brother. "But there's something more important right now..."
His face sunk showing signs of worry, "What is it?"
"When Iris was dying..." I began resting my hands on my knees. "And in my lap. She told me something. Something that I had to tell you."
Barry raised an eyebrow and motioned for me to continue.
"She said and I quote, "It was him. It was always him." I repeated the last words our friend murmured to me as she died.
Barry put his face in his hands, "We could've been together..."
"Barry..." I reached out a hand.
"NO!" He abruptly stood up smacking my hand away. "This is ALL your FAULT!"
I backed into the corner of the couch grasping the arm, "You're right..."
"You could've saved her but you just had to ration with the guy! It's all your fault! Go! Get out! I don't want to see your face!" Barry pointed towards the foyer his face full of rage.
So I did exactly that. I stood up, face tight and fists clenched and stomped up the stairs into my bedroom. I slammed the door waking Oliver up.
"What's going on?" He sat up the blanket falling away from his chest showing his scars and his golden abs. "Is everything okay?"
"No!" I snapped throwing my arms in the air. "I told Barry what Iris said to me just before she died and he freaked out! He said it was all my fault that she's dead and he kicked me out of OUR living room! The thing is that...he's right..."
I stopped dead in front of the mirror and looked at myself. My dark brown hair was curled at the bottom flowing down my back. My deep brown eyes that matched my hair were flaring with anger and sadness. Two of my scars were poking out of the blue v-neck I was wearing.
Out of rage I slammed my fist into the mirror and it shattered into a million pieces on the carpet. All four of my knuckles were split open and bleeding, dripping on to the carpet.
"Jesus Katie!" Oliver ran to me and carefully took my bleeding hand.
"I'll...buy you a new mirror..." I murmured trying to stretch out my fingers.
"No you won't. I hated looking at it to be honest. Come on let's get you downstairs. Medical supplies are in the basement." Oliver put on a shirt and opened the bedroom door.
Max sat up and whined. Clearly he was not happy about me leaving him out there. I followed Oliver down the stairs and into the basement. He pushed me into a chair and put the first aid kit in front of me on the table. Oliver dragged a chair over and sat down.
He placed my hand on top of his knee and grabbed the anti-septic, "At least you don't need stitches. Stitches leave scars and you already have too many of those."
He poured the anti-septic on my hand and I winced, "Ouch."
Oliver wiped the dried blood and wrapped my hand in white gauze.
"All better." He smiled and put the kit away.
Barry came down the stairs, "I heard a crash upstairs then I saw...oh." He said looking at me and then at my hand.
Barry turned and walked back upstairs.
