Ash was beginning to give up and losing hope for finding the monsters. He was going to turn back until he saw the pathway was gone. The same pathway that leads him deep into the forest. He looks at the compass and sees it going haywire. he started to panic as he saw nothing but darkness, he shone his flashlight around trying to find something that would lead him back home. Ash starts to regret not listening to his parents and runs away into the forest in the middle of the night.
His eyes darted everywhere. Up, Down, Right, Left. Darkness crept around him Ash wanted to scream and run away. But his body fell frozen his mouth zipped shut. Not a sound escaped from Ash's mouth. He watched the darkness dance around his legs as he suddenly heard a snap. Not the sound of sticks snapping and breaking. The sounds of Bones cracking. Ash's body tenses as he looks around.
"Who's there..." Ash choked out.
The cracking was getting louder. Not only louder. But closer.
Ash could see everything spinning. He felt like he was going to pass out. But he still needed that proof to show everyone the monster was real. But he didn't want to die trying to find out.
So he ran. He sprinted through the forest past the wildflowers, past the burrows, past the fallen tree logs. He ran and ran till his eyes spotted something...
