After minutes of running, he arrived in front of a pathway deep into the forest. The path that his parents warned him to stay on at all times. He takes out his flashlight and wraps his compass around his wrist as he takes a deep breath.
"This is it, Ash." He thought "I'll finally prove there are monsters out here" he turned on the flashlight—a light beam from the flashlight into the darkness. "I'll show them all wrong." he stepped onto the narrow pathway. Ash could smell the smell of decaying fruit and rotting leaf piles not the most pleasant smells, but Ash didn't care.
Ash walked through the forest with the sight of Fallen logs and gnarled branches scattered throughout the walk. Ash shines the light around trying his best to find a clue. It could have been a footprint, fur, scales, or anything. The smell of Sagebrush wafted around him it was a somewhat spicy, bitter smell. Ash always hated the smell of Sagebrush it always gave him a headache, but he kept powering through the pathway.
He was getting further and further away from where he entered the forest. It got darker and darker as he kept walking. The clear pathway started to disappear the further Ash walked. Ash could hear the sounds of the wind rustling the tree leaves and the sounds of Ash's shoes crunching the dead leaves that littered the floor.
