As he stumbled into the safety of the open meadow, Ash's hands trembled as he turned to glance back one last time, only to see the flicker of yellow eyes still watching him from the forest's edge, as if the creature was silently reminding him that the forest's secrets were far from over.

Ash's heart pounds as he watches the creature's eyes slowly fade into the darkness of the forest. That once molten gold eyes were now replaced with the forest's darkness. He immediately turned around and sprinted towards his house. The smell of Sagebrush slowly faded away behind Ash.

The boy could spot his house as a two-story brick place with a big wooden deck and a porch where he hung out most of his holidays He goes straight to the window where he snuck out, jumped in, and slammed it closed. His breath was short-winded.

Ash takes off his shoes before going up the stairs to his room. He opens the door and returns to the safety of his bedroom. His heart raced with the remnants of terror as he collapsed onto his bed, his mind replaying the horrifying encounter.

The creature's chilling eyes haunted him even in the comfort of his room, and the thought of what lay within the forest gnawed at his thoughts. He had been so certain that proving the existence of monsters would be a thrilling adventure, but the reality was far more sinister.

Ash's eyelids soon started to feel heavy.

"Tomorrow will be better... I hope." Ash murmured before his eyelids fell shut.
