Enzo's pov

Astoria had just left my dorm, saying something about Daphne, but honestly, I wasn't paying attention. I had my face buried in some random textbook.

"You okay, man?" I looked up at Draco, setting down the textbook.

"Yeah, why?" I asked.

"I don't know. You haven't been the same since you and Tessa broke up. When we're hanging out in a group, you seem fine, but it looks like an act to me," he shrugged, standing up and walking over to my bookshelf.

Truth be told, I haven't been the same. Seeing her with Mattheo did something to me.

Of all people she could end up with, it had to be Mattheo. It just didn't make sense.

"You're not over her, are you?" Draco added. I sighed, placing my head in my hands.

"No, of course not," I muttered.

"I can't just flip a switch and turn off my emotions for her, not like how she's doing. None of it makes sense. How do you just throw away a year in the span of a week? It's not like her, Draco. She was literally bawling her eyes out that day because we ended things, and now she's just moved on?" I ran my hands through my hair and stood up, pacing back and forth before landing at my window and letting out a sigh.

"What about Astoria?" I heard Draco ask. I let out a laugh.

You've got to be kidding me.

"What about her?" I snapped, turning my head to look at him.

He looked away immediately. "I just mean you two have been getting close. Plus, you smelled Astoria in your potion, so maybe you should move on too..."

"I could give two shits about Astoria, Draco. She's just a means of distraction. I have no feelings for her, and if I do, they're clearly hiding, or that potion is rubbish. I know what I feel, and it's not for Astoria!" I snapped, hitting my fist against my desk.

There's no way I smelled Astoria. This wasn't some enemies-to-lovers trope. I genuinely can't stand the idea of Astoria; just the thought of her makes my skin crawl.

"Wow, you really don't like her," yeah, no shit, Draco.

"It doesn't make sense. Those potions are never wrong. Even if you were to hate Astoria, a part of you would still have some type of feeling for her," Draco explained like I didn't already know this.

"Come with me," he said.

"Where are we going?" I asked, looking at him, confused.

"The potions lab. If my suspicions are right, someone's messed with your potion," Draco said, opening my door. I followed him, thinking about what he said.

It all made sense, but who would do that and why?

A part of me hoped it was true. If they messed with mine, maybe they messed with Tessa's, but that wouldn't explain her feelings for him. Maybe she did genuinely like him.

Maybe I should try and move on, just not with Astoria. God, no.

"Who do you think would do this?" I asked Draco. He shrugged his shoulders, looking over at me.

"I have no idea. I want to say Mattheo, but I just don't see why he would do that. He barely pays any attention to her," he said quietly so we wouldn't get caught.

He was right; Mattheo was a lot of things, but this was even too far for him.

"Here," Draco whispered, putting a finger over his lips to shush me.
