I woke up feeling better than I have in the past couple of days. Although yesterday was pretty amazing, I still haven't felt like myself in quite some time.
I opened my eyes, expecting to see Mattheo next to me, but to my surprise, he wasn't there. I frowned at the empty space next to me and tried not to let it bother me.
I picked up my phone to check the time and saw I had a text message from him: "Good morning, princess. I wanted to stay, but I have a few things to take care of before classes."
I let out a small sigh.
He was always "taking care" of something, and he was always so secretive about it.
I looked over at Pansy's bed, which was empty. She'd been disappearing at night a lot lately with some mystery man. I knew it was Draco; that was pretty obvious to me.
Those two have been in love with each other since we were 10.
I couldn't help but smile. Draco, Pansy, and I have been friends for as long as I can remember. Then in first year, Blaise came along. Next was Enzo, and finally, Theo and Mattheo joined our group.
I pushed myself out of bed and took a quick shower, letting the hot water fall over my body as I closed my eyes.
My mind wandered to Mattheo. Whatever he was up to, I hoped he was being safe about it.
I finished my shower, threw on my uniform, grabbed my wand, and headed to the Great Hall for breakfast. I passed the common room and saw Enzo and Blaise coming down the stairs from the boys' side.
"Hey, you two," I smiled.
"Tessa! My gorgeous best friend," Blaise giggled, pulling me into a hug.
"Someone's in a good mood," I laughed, wrapping my arms around him.
"He shagged Luna last night!" Enzo blurted out, causing him to receive daggers from Blaise.
"WHAT!? Like Lovegood? Oh boy," I shook my head, and we started walking out of the common room and through the halls to breakfast.
"So, was she good in bed? Crazy girls are always good in bed," Enzo chuckled at his own comment, breaking the peaceful silence.
"I'm not discussing my sex life with you, Enzo," Blaise rolled his eyes, shoving Enzo slightly.
Blaise and Enzo were talking about Quidditch practice when Harry approached me. "Hey, Tessa."
"Hey, Harry," I smiled. I know most Slytherins hated other houses, especially Harry, but I wasn't one of them. It didn't matter to me what house a person was in.
"Can I talk to you for a second in private?" he asked, looking between me and the boys.
Enzo raised his brow but ignored it.
"Yeah, sure," I spoke and followed him to an empty hall.
"I overheard Snape talking about you... do you know who your mother is?" he asked nervously. I gave him a confused look.
Why was he asking about my family?
I shook my head, telling him no.
"I hate to be the one to tell you this, but your mother was... um, Lily," he spoke so quickly I almost missed the name. For a second, I thought I heard wrong.
"Lily as in...?" There was no way me and Potter shared the same mother. How was this even possible?
"Yes," he muttered.
"There's something else, isn't there? I can tell there is. What's going on?" I was now on alert, my anxiety working overtime.
"You're the first person Voldemort is going to look for when he comes back. You and me... something about the prophecy," he sighed. I could tell he was stressed; I could feel it radiating off him.
