Jaymes limped down an oil road as her mind thought back to everything that had just happened mere hours ago, three of her best friends dead and no idea where Javi was.Her plan had failed, instead of the tornado being an EF1 or an EF2, it's surprised all of them, by being an EF5 and wiping out everything in its path, including her friends.
A police car came to a stop in front of her as a man in a police uniform offered her his help.
After she got back from the hospital, she had a nasty scar on her left leg, and the guilt was too much for her. She packed up some clothes, money, and her three horses to get ready to go to America's Big Apple: New York.
---
After Jaymes got to New York and got settled in, it was just another day of work for her. She checked on her horses at a nearby stable, went back to her apartment, cleaned up, and went to work. This was her life, everyday for the last five years.
She liked her job, she worked with forecasters to watch tornados to issue warnings of needed, but it wasn't as thrilling as her 'old life' had been.
Jaymes has just sat back down at her desk when an assistant walked up to her.
"Jaymes, there's a guy here to see you. He's in the conference room."
---
Jaymes has just walked through the door to see a man standing with his back turned to her.
"Hey, I'm Jaymes."
The man turned around at her voice and Jaymes nearly froze.
"Hey, Jaymie," Javi said with a smile plastered on his face. The old nickname brought a smile to Jaymes' face too. He walked up to her and put his arms around her in a tight hug. "It's been a long time."
---
"Look, I, um, I should really be getting back, but, it was good seeing you." She sternly said to Javi, "You be careful out there." as she set down some money and walked towards the door.
"Jaymes," Javi said, "do you ever wonder why it was us that made it out of there?"
Jaymes blinked from her trance and walked out the door, Javi had just pitched his Storm Par idea out to her and if she was being honest, it terrified her. Chasing was the reason why her friends were dead. She couldn't go back to that, even if she wanted to. It just hurt too much.
---
That night her mind was plagued with nightmares and that morning it was a message from Javi, telling her about another destruction from a tornado and him telling her to come back.
Maybe this was her sign maybe the universe was telling her something. So, once again, she packed her bags, loaded up her horses, and set off to a place she swore she would never go back to: Oklahoma.

I know that this was short, but this was just the prologue, the chapters will be longer!
