This weekend was nothing short of a stressful one for the now widely known storm chasing couple. It had been full of early mornings, late nights, and smiling faces.

This weekend was the Oklahoma State Finals Rodeo. The biggest rodeo in the state, in which hundreds of thousands of people flocked to one of the biggest arenas and watched people compete for saddles, money, and above all, the respect.

And Jaymes' favorite part? The fact that she had not only been asked to trick ride at the end of performances, but that she herself had qualified for state for her second time in breakaway and pole bending.

Shutting her tack door for what felt like the 100th time, she walled over and opened the windows on her trailer. Allowing her three beauties in the back to have to airflow.

Coming around the trailer, she was met with Kathy, who was looking at her worriedly. "Text me when you get there. Don't speed, and find a good spot. And don't you dare be on your phone." She added sternly.

Jaymes laughed as she engulfed her in a tight hug. "It's not my first time, Ma. And besides, it's Wednesday, and we'll have a great spot."

Breaking the hug, she stepped away and opened the drivers seat to her truck. Hesitating slightly, she turned around and looked at her mother. "Love you, Ma."

Kathy smiled, "I love you too, baby. Oh, and I'll be over there soon with your supper."

"Ma, you don't need to do that. We'll find something to eat."

Kathy shook her head aggressively, "Oh no, it's your big weekend. Ain't no way that I'm letting my baby eat anything but homecooked meals."

"Ah, fucker," Their attention was now not on each other, but a standing Tyler who was gently setting Rory in the crate. Then, closing the door and walking over to the pickup, opening the back door and setting them inside.

"What was that about?"

"It pinched me," he said innocently, referring to the crate.

Rolling her eyes, Jaymes shut the drivers seat door and turned the vehicle on.

"Alright, don't hold up the line." Kathy mused as Tyler gave her a hug and  kissed her cheek.

"We love you," he said back.

"Mmhm," She hummed, "Love trying to give me a heart attack."

Pulling into the rodeo grounds after about a two hour drive, Jaymes backed the trailer close to a fence line that marked the edge of the grounds.
