Tyler slowly walked up to the fence as Jaymes rode. She still hadn't noticed him.
"Hey, Darlin'"
Jaymes turned around and sat down on Saige, as she had been standing on her.
She smiled as she walked up to the fence with Saige. "No more, city girl?"
Tyler smiled, "Do you like it more?"
"No, absolutely not."
"Darlin' it is then."
Jaymes jumped off of Saige as she walked up to the gate, but Tyler beat her. He swung the gate open. "After you, Darlin'."
She chuckled, "What a gentleman."
Tyler shut the gate and they both started to walk towards the barn.
"So, what are you doing here?"
He looked at Jaymes, meeting her eyes with intensity. "I wanted to make sure you were okay. You looked pretty pissed with Javi."
She smiled, "Thanks and I was, well I am, but it's over now, nothing I can do about it."
Tyler wanted to ask her what he said but he figured if she wanted him to know she tell him. You wanted to respect her privacy.
They got to the barn and walked in. i
It was simple, had three worn stalls, a place to store hay, and a small corner where the saddles and other tack were.Jaymes switched Saige's bridle out for her halter and finished untacking her.
"Tyler?"
"Hmm?"
"You wanna do something fun?"
"Always, Darlin'."
"C'mon." She grabbed his hand and led him out to the back pasture. Luckily, the other two horses, Rango and Tex were up to the fence not too far away from them.
"That's Tex," she said pointing at a tall palomino. "And that's Rango." She pointed to a dark buckskin. "Take your pick."
Tyler smiled, "What are we doing, Darlin?"
She smiled and grabbed two halters. "We're riding."
---
"How long does it take you to tack up?"
"Relax, Darlin, I'm just getting to know him. Besides, these stirrups are way too short."
She smiled, "I'm taller than the average woman."
He stuck his foot in the stirrup and smirked, "Still shorter than me."
"Uh hu, let's go." Jaymes said as she sat on Rango with a picnic basket in her hand. She had packed sandwiches, chips, fruit, and some water. It wasn't going to be a long trip, she just wanted to be prepared.
