After the talk with Sandile I felt very uneasy. I don't know but I was scared. I was scared for Dumisani even though he kinda brought this on himself. Actually, I don't know. The things he'd said about Zingi? Were they true or he was just projecting? Regardless, she slept with Sandile before she found out he was cheating. What if she wants Dumi out of the way? Maybe we're mistaken man. There's no such thing. Maybe I heard wrong or misinterpreted it. I just carried on with the arrangements of the party. A guy called Ronnie said he would attempt the face dartboard but it could only be ready tomorrow evening. I had a lot of persuading to do and Lakhe's black card helped. Lakhe: "Baby? Is everything okay?" Me: "I have a headache baby. Will you be able to fetch Sandile's cake tomorrow when we go to the park?" Lakhe: "Yeah.." he held my arms. Lakhe: "You look troubled. Talk to me." Me: "Just stuff...." Lakhe: "What stuff?" he sat down and pulled me to sit on top of him. I started telling him about the incident in Zingi's hospital room. Lakhe: "So you think she did this on purpose?" I nodded. Lakhe: "Its not far fetched baby...but why would she wanna kill her own husband? The father of her kids? Before you decide to do anything. Talk to her, find out how she is and how she feels. If you still feel something doesn't add up, we'll figure something out." I hugged him. Me: "I thought you'd think I'm crazy." Lakhe: "I would never baby.. You just have a very wild imagination at times and sometimes it runs off with you. Its cute. What else needs to be prepared for tomorrow?" Me: "Braai. You have to buy meat, and invite his friends." Lakhe: "I'll fly them in in the morning. So my task is, flights, the cake, should we still do the haunted house theme?" Me: "Nah...I was throwing ideas around." Lakhe: "Everything is going to be okay love. Don't worry." Me: "I know. Thanks to you.. You're amazing." Lakhe: "And?" Me: "And handsome." Lakhe: "Finally you admit." Me: "Let me take a nap baby ne." Lakhe: "Okay. I'll cook you dinner so long." he kissed me full on the lips then pecked my nose. Me: "Thank you sthandwasam." I got into bed. He covered me with a blanket and I started dozing off but it felt like I was floating. I woke myself up. I've always been able to do that. In the midst of an unpleasant dream, I can shake myself out of it. I relaxed again closing my eyes and there it was. I was in a different house to the one I lived in. Smaller also. A quick rush of emotions flooded me, it was familiar and felt like a home. Maybe I should stay. I walked through the house with familiarity until I reached the bedroom. He was packing up his clothes. Me: "Simphiwe." he looked at me. Sim: "Spho? How did you- You're here." Me: "Where are you going?" Sim: "This is not my house Spho. It's yours. I have to leave." Me: "I gave it to you." Sim: "Yeah maybe you shouldn't have. It was wrong of me to put you in that position." Me: "I don't see myself needing it again. I've moved on." Sim: "Yeah." he chuckled bitterly. Sim: "Mrs Sobekwa." he shook his head. Sim: "For all the time I dated you, I knew you were way out of my league. He suits you. Lakhe is definitely your perfect fit." the tightness in his tone indicated how tough that must be a pill to swallow. I woke myself up, sitting up on my bed. I was still sleepy so I tried a third time to sleep peacefully.

Evening came. Lakhe was next to me when I woke up doing something on his iPad. Lakhe: "Hey." Me: "Hi." Lakhe: "Restless sleep?" Me: "Yes...I couldn't properly sleep." Lakhe: "Why?" Me: "I had a dream about Simphiwe. He said you're my perfect fit. Apparently he's leaving the house." he chuckled. Lakhe: "Baby, dreams are not literal." Me: "Some of mine are. This one particularly. Were you friends?" Lakhe: "He wishes. Simphiwe I met through his uncle. I met his uncle at an expo and we discussed potential business. He wasn't the most reliable guy but he introduced me to Simphiwe who warned me not to go into business with his uncle because he was a crook. That's how we stayed in contact." Me: "That was nice of him." Lakhe: "Not as nice as letting me stay in his house when I arrived here instead of a hotel because I needed a home feel. And I decided I want to take it from him so I stole you." Me: "You stole me?" Lakhe: "In a sense. I lured you to my bed. You don't remember?" he chuckled. Me: "Of course I don't remember. You lured me how?" Lakhe: "I gave you penis and you never left." I laughed long and hard. He is such a liar. Me: "You're a liar. Why did you steal me?" Lakhe: "I lost my mind when I saw you, I promise. I knew I had to have you. I couldn't focus on anything else. He saved me by cheating, I would've had to do something very unethical. I was rejoicing when you left him. You have no idea." I laughed. Me: "So you two aren't friends anymore?" Lakhe: "We haven't spoken to each other since the day I left his house. Apart from the encounter at Woolworths." Me: "I see." I smiled. Lakhe: "Was that helpful?" Me: "A little. I can imagine it happening...its slowly coming to me." he nodded. Me: "Thank you sthandwasam." Lakhe: "Let me get your food." Me: "Let me get up." he put his iPad down. Me: "Love?" Lakhe: "Yes baby?" Me: "Didn't I have one of those?" Lakhe: "I'm not sure. But you probably did." Me: " I had a flat right?" Lakhe: "Yes, you'd just moved in a few weeks before the accident." Me: "Can we go there?" Lakhe: "Now?" Me: "Yes. You haven't sold it, right?" Lakhe: "No I haven't." I got dressed and we went to have dinner. Me: "Where is Sandile?" Lakhe: "Probably hibernating." I ate the dinner my fiancé had prepared for me and we left. We arrived he unlocked the flat and we walked in. It was dusty and the furniture was still unpacked. Me: "You didn't come here after the accident?" Lakhe: "I did, to collect some of your stuff." I tried switching on the lights but it wasn't working. He checked the electricity box. Lakhe: "The electricity is finished. Probably the geyser. Its still on." I switched on my phone torch and went to the bedroom. I looked through my drawers. Me: "Here it is." Lakhe: "What?" Me: "My iPad." I smiled uncontrollably. Me: "I found it!" I was near tears actually. Finding something that was a mere idea about an hour ago." Lakhe: "That's great love. Let's check for other things." we collected some of my belongings. Lakhe: "What do we do with this furniture?" Me: "When we decorate the other side of our house we can put it there." Lakhe: "Okay. Lets go." we left for home.
