Chapter 22
Kilala
—————
Julian— Jericho's younger brother— doesn't just look like him, they are so much alike.
"Wala ngang ulam!" Jericho glared at his brother. "Bumili ka sa labas kung gusto mo,"
"Wala akong pera," Julian extended his hand to Jericho. "Pahingi barya, bili ako itlog sa labas,"
I watched how Jericho rolled his eyes before giving his brother a twenty peso bill. Julian went outside of the house as Jericho went to their kitchen, still not noticing me. When I followed him, I found him rinsing rice.
"Jericho," I called him. He turned around to look at me while still rinsing.
Nang tingnan ko ito ng maigi, I realized that those certificates are all Jericho's achievements, including the medals and a few trophies.
It was a family picture. It was Jericho's Junior High graduation based on his toga. Beside him was his mother— the one I met in the market. Between them was his younger brother, Julian. They look so happy.
However, his father is nowhere to be seen.
He was now standing in front of me. I stood and followed him outside.
Hala, gago. Meet the family?!
When she looked at me, recognition plastered on her face. "Taliyah!"
Awkward, I smiled at her. "Hello po..."
Jericho's mother seemed so surprise to see me. She was still in shock when her eyes went behind our back— their house. With widened eyes, she looked at me, then to Jericho.
