Chapter 34
Courting
—————
On the left side was Jericho while on the right side was Kian. I pursed my lips as I felt my heart beating upon seeing the two on the opposite sides of the stage. Anticipating, I sat and ate my popcorn.
In foundation week, Jericho and Kian joined the debate. Unfortunately, they were put in opposite sides. Their topic was about same sex marriage— a very interesting topic to debate on. Both of them were great enough to debate against each other that the crowd in front of them started to grow.
"Mga halimaw," Rika commented while she was sitting beside me, eating her popcorn. "No wonder they're friends. Parehas halimaw sa kahit anong bagay,"
I laughed as I agreed with Rika. Jericho and Kian were monsters on the stage. Hindi na makapagsalita ang mga kasama nila dahil silang dalawa na lang ang nagsasagutan. Kitang-kita ko pa kung pa'no mang-asar si Jericho habang si Kian naman ay tinatawanan lang siya. They were enjoying the debate.
In the end, the debate ended with Jericho's victory. I looked at them and found them looking satisfied with the result. Kian immediately hugged Rika as Jericho took a handful of popcorn from me.
"Tang ina ni Kian, ginutom ako," reklamo ni Jericho habang nakain pa rin ng popcorn. "Pinagsasabi mong gago ka kanina? Gumamit ka pa ng bible verse. Wala ka na bang maisip na rebutt?"
"E, 'yon ang main reason kung bakit wala pang same sex marriage dito sa Pilipinas, e. Catholic country daw kasi," Kian replied.
Jericho only rolled his eyes at his friend before looking at me. I looked back at hin as I blinked.
"Gusto mo mag-ikot? May cafè daw ang HRM Department, e," aya ni Jericho.
"Anong meron sa department niyo?" I asked. "Sa 'min, animated version of the students. Chibi lang para raw mas madali,"
"Ewan ko kung anong meron sa 'min. Wala naman akong pakialam," Jericho rolled his eyes. "Wala ka bang gagawin sa council ngayon? P'wede naman tayo mag-ikot, 'no?"
I nodded my head at him. Because of that, Jericho and I headed somewhere else while Rika and Kian headed to the photobooth. I was recruited by the student council. I am the freshman representative of my department. At first, I hesitated because I was scared I would die in exhaustion. But I managed naman. Okay naman.
The whole day, Jericho and I roamed around the school. We participated in a lot of booths. We gave them our feedback. In the end of the day, we tried the photobooth and have a copy of our own. When I got back home, I put my copy beside the other photobooth photo of us.
I pinned them on my mini bulletin board inside my room. I smiled as I looked at them. They looked adorable and lovely. Feeling happy, I took a photo of it before sending it to Jericho.
Taliyah Valeska:
I still have my copies of both photo
What about you?Not long enough, Jericho replied to my message.
Jericho Kaine:
Nasa 'kin pa rinThen, he sent a photo of our pictures. I smiled as I saw how he took care of it. Laminated pa, e.
