The world might have been laughing at you after subjecting you to this misery, but it has to reward you something. And reward you, it did, because today, something happened. Something important and life-changing.
Two days after your luxurious breakfast with Gojo and Geto, you still had school to attend; so you did.
It was supposed to be snowing today, but when you walked down the hallways and looked outside, there was nothing but a gray sky.
The world must be mourning too. If not, then it really had too much audacity. From subjecting you to this world for years without your knowledge, then now telling you that you had no control over your life?
This was so sick.
Clearly, no one wanted to listen to any of your complaints. Gojo said it himself, didn't he?
You had no choice.
Even if you were on the edge of your lifespan, you still had to continue living your life. You were a student first and foremost, and getting stalked by old geezers high of authority won't change that any time sooner.
Since this week was preparation week for the school festival, you were tasked to go fill up a bucket of water while your classmates prepared the decorations. So you came down to the gymnasium to use the hose instead of the faucet. Hey, you're lazy; you want to crouch down while waiting for the bucket to be filled. Plus, you need some time to think about your safety from this day onwards.
But then curses started surrounding you, and now you're trapped in the middle of the circle they made around you while you were crouched on the floor.
There was at least five of them; you tried counting from your peripheral, and all of them varied in different sizes.
What did you do to deserve this? Even you didn't know.
As if five curses in one morning wasn't enough, you heard pair of footsteps coming closer.
You closed your eyes in desperation.
Please don't block the only exit from these curses right in front of me, please no.
Then the world played with you again and the footsteps stopped. Right in front of you. Blocking your only exit from this circle.
Don't move. Your eyes were still closed. Don't look quickly. Act natural, cause you still need to check if the bucket is full. They'll leave when they realize you can't see them.
And please. Please, please, please don't get scared once you open your eyes.
With your heart racing, you slowly opened your eyes.
"Oh. There's a person," a different, deeper voice spoke.
Oh.
Your mouth dropped open.
A blond boy stood in front of you, blocking the sunlight. You stared up at him with your mouth hanging, the hose lay limply in your grasp.
He was tall, a little broad on the shoulders, and his jaw and cheekbones were sharp. Pale blond hair fell into a swept style to the side, making his presence feel even younger, more youthful than what you know of him. His eyes were a heavy lidded hazel, and they trailed to the side, observing the multiple cursed spirits that grouped up to intimidate you, then he turned and fixated on your face again.
Every thought that was ever swept into your head at that moment had been blown away.
Because there's no way you are facing someone who looks so much like the younger Nanami Kento from your memories. There's just no way.
