The next day, you skipped class. Not because something bad had happened, but because something important was about to.

You knew your mom would be angry if she found out about your plan, so you pretended to go to school. You packed your bag, ate breakfast, and left the house as usual. Once you were sure you were out of sight, you circled back home and dialed a number.

That number belonged to a certain black haired sorcerer who dipped his head past the front door, looking around in caution.

"Excuse us," Geto slipped inside the house, taking off his shoes as quietly as possible.

Like a duckling that will shrivel up and die if he's not part of the flock, another towering figure followed suit.

"Nice place you've got here," Gojo grinned.

You didn't even invite him, but you have to expect this setup from now on. After all, Geto and Gojo have been assigned on this mission regarding the retrieval of your 'cursed objects', so now, wherever Geto is, Gojo is sure to follow him around.

"Please, make yourself at home," you said as a formality, because someone else was already making themselves at home—cue Gojo 'ooh'ing and 'aah'ing and touching any decorative items he could find around the entrance of your house.

You're relieved your mom kept her favorite trinkets hidden away. You can just imagine her screaming in misery if someone touched even an inch of the fake plant she bought from the store five blocks away.

The two were glancing around with genuine interest, and now that you think about it...

"Geto-san, isn't this the first time you've been here without my mom around?" you asked as a small talk.

Geto faced you with a blink that silently said 'how did you know what I was thinking?' then he smiled. "It is. I'm surprised Ms. (L/n) let you skip class for today."

She didn't, but let's smile anyway and act like she approved of this.

"They didn't tell their mom." Gojo ruined your thoughts by jabbing his thumb your way. "Look at that face. Is that the face of someone who told their mom they weren't going to school?"

"This," you said calmly, "is the face of someone who can throw you out of their house anytime they want, Gojo Satoru-san."

Geto snorted. Gojo scrunched his face.

"What the hell? Don't call me by my full name. That feels worse than being called formally by every stiff person around me," he bristled.

You brushed his words off by walking further into the living room.

Your home was modest and a bit disorganized. The laundry basket wasn't filled to the brim yet, but it was a stark contrast to the usually clean place you had whenever you bring Geto here.

You can just imagine your mother having a heart attack at the sight of the two. She'd drag you by your ears and shout: why in the world would you bring over friends when our home was still so filthy?!

But mom, I also didn't expect this.

That meeting with Nanami just made you throw away all of the discipline you had built upon yourself, and maybe it wasn't even a sturdy discipline either. It was breaking the moment you first met Geto; you questioned it when Gojo slapped you with the truth; and it fully disintegrated when you saw that look on Nanami's face.
