Geto Suguru, "The Fear of the Known"
There has always been a routine in Geto Suguru's life.
'Exorcise, absorb, then repeat.'
It is the everyday procedure of a sorcerer born with a cursed technique like him.
Nobody understands how it feels to be subjected to your own cursed technique. Like swallowing a rag that has been used to wipe shit and vomit, absorbing curses takes too much perseverance for Suguru, but it is his routine. His own life. He adheres to it like usual.
That day was no different.
Exorcise, absorb, then repeat. Suguru does this for the safety of non-sorcerers. He believes that it is his duty, as a Jujutsu sorcerer himself, to alleviate the pain and bury the mysterious phenomena that happens to those who are ignorant of their world.
That day was supposed to be similar to the others. However, why does Suguru feel like something has changed?
No, that can't be it. Nothing has changed.
Exorcise, absorb, and repeat.
He still does it every once in a while. Even now, he's planning on doing it.
Suguru is there at the convenience store, waiting for the non-sorcerer to come. He expects to see a barrage of Grade 4 to 2 curses once the non-sorcerer make their presence known, and he knows what he needs to do: he will exorcise a curse that is draining their energy, stealthily absorb it when they are not looking at him, and repeat it until all disappears.
But hours pass by, and the non-sorcerer never comes.
"This is unusual."
Night time falls, and Suguru is still standing all alone in front of the automatic glass door of the store.
"Where are they? They don't seem like the type to easily slack off on their work whenever they want to..."
He checks his phone. There's no one messaging him. He frowns.
