Welcome back guys! Hopefully your week has been going well.

Here's some warning for you before you proceed:

This chapter involves a spoiler character from the manga. I tried my best to make them minimal so any manga readers won't be fully spoiled, but please still proceed with that caution in mind.

I think its incredibly funny how this character was discussed in the server right before the chapter they appear haha

Shh. They don't know anything... yet...

"Ah!" You perked up, phone held to the sky, arms shaking with strain. "Finally! Signal!"

Fun Fact: Jujutsu High's internet sucks.

If there was even a detail in the manga that said Jujutsu High is a prison, you'd have to agree. You even have first-hand experience of it too.

It hasn't even been more than three weeks but you already thought the school was designed to keep students busy with training and missions. Just look at how they made everything almost empty. There wasn't any places to entertain yourself here except for the pretty landscape that, on usual cases, you'd enjoy, but clearly staring at it for a total of twelve hours wouldn't be enough for you. There wasn't even a library to hang around in this school. What kind of schools don't even own a library?

The only outlier here was the TV that the three snuck into your room on New Year's Eve, but cable channels can only do so much for someone who was once always on their phone 24/7.

As a chronically online person, you cannot survive on these trenches.

So even if you have to climb back up the multiple steps of the mountains, you would go down the shopping district of the suburbs just to find a goddamn signal. Or even better: a shop with a strong internet.

Nobody can see the Protector so you decided to bring it with you and let it carry you down the steps. If someone could see it, they'd know best to leave you alone. After all, why would they mess with a person who casually has a scary cursed spirit trudging behind them anyway? Unless they're crazy sorcerers who like the idea of dying, or they're batshit insane curses like Mahito but let's not scare ourselves now; you have your Protector—that's the name of it too—and it's there to protect you.

You huffed, watching the bar of signal in your phone go up even when you lowered your arm. There wasn't much to do with your normal phone, but your flip phone can hold multiple interesting games in it, and the oldass chatboards online were pretty funny to check too. Everyone who posted there is either kindly humorous or horrifyingly funny, which makes it feel like you're still back in your current era. It's almost ironic how shitposting never once grew out of style even back in 2006.

After window-shopping and buying some drinks from a cafe (using your money. Jujutsu High hasn't given you any allowance yet), you decided to visit a small-time bookstore too.

The good thing about bookstores here is the rental books. You can either buy any books you want (well, yeah) or you could sit down by a small corner along with others and start reading on the spot. You didn't need to pay for it either. As long as you returned it undamaged, you'll be just fine reading until the shop closes.

Sometimes, you think the bookstores here give too much power to people. You haven't seen anyone abuse it yet but hopefully there won't be any, cause you might actually cry if some kind of law forbids bookstores from doing their rental corners again because someone idiotic decided to exploit this blessing.
