"So you guys have a lot of magic here at Auradon?" I asked as we walked into the school.
The opening room had a tall ceiling and tall oak stairs on either side that opened to another floor.
"Like wands and things like that?" Mal added.
Ben and Audrey turned to face us.
"Yeah it exists of course but it's pretty much retired. Most of us here are just ordinary mortals." Ben answered.
Mal rolled her eyes in a playful way as she responded. "Who happens to be Kings and Queens?"
"Don't forget the Princess and Princesses." I stated, lightly elbowing her.
This caused her to let out a small laugh and push my elbow back with one of her hands. It rested right back on her hip as it previously was to match her other arm.
"That's true. Our Royal blood goes back hundreds of years." Audrey responds as she pulls Ben's arm behind her neck and over her shoulder.
She looked up at Ben expectantly when Ben spotted someone on the stairs.
"Doug. Doug!" He called, moving his hand off her shoulder. "Come down." He said as he moved towards the stairs where a guy in the same blue and yellow uniform as earlier, was walking down.
I held back a laugh as I watched an embarrassed Audrey. She didn't like nor expect how quick Ben had moved his arm off her shoulder. I, on the other hand, didn't mind it at all. It got me thinking, was there trouble in paradise?
"This is Doug." Ben starts as he pulls the boy in, wrapping his arm over his shoulder (by his own accord, may I add). "He's gonna help you with your class schedules and show you the rest of the dorms."
Doug gave a small nod while Ben took a step forward towards me.
"Sounds good? Okay? And if there's is anything you need, feel free to—"
Audrey was quick to barg in with whatever Ben was about to say next. "—ask Doug."
Aubrey and I let out another little fake laughter that dissolved into sighs. I feel like that was about to be a routine of ours. Ben let out an awkward laugh as he walked off with Aubrey. I rolled my eyes and glanced at Mal and Evie.
"Hi guys, I'm Dopeys son as in Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, and—" The boy with dirty blonde (if not light brown), bright green eyes, and brown box glasses. His words quieted down as he made eye contact with Evie. "Hi. Ho." He said, his breath shuddering slightly.
"Evie." She said, walking forward, her hands still on her hips. "Evil Queen's daughter."
He looked down at his clipboard, presumably to hide the blush that crept on his cheeks as Evie stepped forward. I glanced over at Mal, both of us covering a small laugh.
"Okay so about your classes, I put in the requirements already." Evie began twirling her hair as Mal stepped forward until she was behind him and looking over his shoulder. "History of what's wrong with pirates, safety rules for the internet, and uh-" Based on his change of body language and tone, I could figure out the basics of the next class. "-remedial goodness 101."
I let out a quiet scoff.
"Let me guess, new class?" Mal asked to which Doug nodded.
"Come on guys. It's dorm time." I said, lifting my pointer finger to the sky and walking towards the stairs.
Everyone was quick to follow me only for Doug to stop us as we made it halfway up the stairs.
"Oh yeah, your dorms are that way guys." He said, pointing to the hallway on the other side of the room.
