In the entire Singhania family, no one was more infuriated by Angad's sudden announcement than Vidyut's mother, Reena. She had meticulously chosen a suitable bride for her son long ago.

"Father," Reena began, her voice laced with a mix of sorrow and disbelief, "We know nothing about this girl or her background, and now you're marrying my only son to a complete stranger. Regardless of your reasons, I cannot accept this. I will never agree to my son marrying a girl with such low status. Vidyut may be in a coma, but he will wake up one day. The doctors have assured us of that. How could you expect me to approve of such an arrangement?"

Angad’s expression grew stern as he listened to his daughter, yet he motioned for everyone to remain calm. With an air of quiet confidence, Maya addressed Reena with a serene smile, "Ma’am, I assure you, I will stay by Mr. Vidyut's side until he recovers. Once he regains consciousness, I will sign the divorce papers and quietly leave."

The entire Singhania family exchanged bewildered glances at Maya's words.

"Why is this girl so determined to care for Vidyut? Does she even realize how dangerous he can be?" These unspoken questions flickered across their minds.

Reena’s gaze swept over Maya with evident disdain.

Maya, despite her simplicity, possessed an ethereal beauty. Her porcelain skin seemed to glow, reminiscent of an angel.

Turning away with a sneer, Reena scoffed, "There’s no need for that. My son is well cared for. Why would I ever marry him to someone like you? Do you even know who my son is? People call him a king. I will never allow him to marry a girl of your standing."

Maya remained unruffled, her gentle smile unshaken by Reena's harsh words. She met Reena's gaze briefly, noting the pride and love in her eyes for Vidyut, before lowering her head with a faint, knowing smile.

One by one, the other family members echoed Reena’s sentiments, voicing their objections.

After hearing the chorus of disapproval, Angad tapped his cane on the floor, commanding silence. In a voice filled with authority, he declared, "I did not ask for anyone’s opinion regarding Vidyut and Maya’s marriage. My decision is final. If anyone objects, they are free to leave this family."

A stunned silence fell over the room. Even Maya was taken aback by the finality in Angad’s tone.

“What’s so special about this girl that Grandfather is willing to risk the unity of the family for her?” thought Vidyut’s cousin, Siya, her eyes narrowing in suspicion as she glared at Maya.

Though unspoken, the room was filled with questions, but no one dared challenge Angad’s decree, remembering his ultimatum.

As the family dispersed to their rooms, their resentment toward Maya palpable, she turned to Angad, her face etched with concern. "Mr. Kapoor, you didn’t have to go against your family on my behalf."

Angad's stern expression softened as he placed a gentle hand on Maya's head. “My child,” he said with warmth, “from this day forward, you must call me Grandfather. And don’t worry about my family; none of them have the courage to defy me.”

Maya smiled graciously, “Thank you, Grandfather. You remind me so much of my own.”

Angad’s smile widened. “No need to thank me, Maya. If anything, we should thank you. You’ve shown us that even our devilish grandson has a heart. Now, let’s go to Vidyut’s room. We need to get the marriage papers in order.”

“Of course,” Maya replied with a composed smile.

As they entered Vidyut’s master bedroom, Maya’s eyes softened as she gazed at him lying on the king-sized bed. Despite being in a coma for two days, his handsomeness remained undiminished. His tousled hair on his forehead gave him an endearing, boyish charm.

Slowly, Maya approached him, unable to resist the urge to touch his face. With delicate fingers, she brushed the hair from his forehead and traced the line of his nose, a gentle smile playing on her lips.

"You've only grown more handsome in these past six years, Mr. Devil," she murmured, a soft chuckle escaping her.

Six months later...

Maya prepared for work, looking every bit the sophisticated professional in her black crop top, sleek black jeans, and matching sneakers. At six feet tall, she was an arresting figure, her poise and grace unmistakable. With her hair tied back in a neat ponytail and documents in hand, she exuded elegance and confidence.

“Maya!” a voice called from behind.

She turned, her smile warm as she saw Varun, Vidyut’s cousin, approaching.

Varun was tall and muscular, with the same commanding presence as Vidyut. Both were 27 years old, but Varun's softer demeanor set him apart.

In a firm yet gentle tone, Maya asked, “Varun, why did you stop me? I’m running late for work.”

Varun, his hands casually tucked in his pockets, looked at Maya with an affection that was hard to hide. From the moment he first saw her, he had fallen deeply in love. Though Maya was aware of his feelings, she chose to remain distant, not wanting to complicate matters.

Taking a deep breath, Varun confessed, “Maya, I love you. Since the first time I laid eyes on you, I’ve been drawn to you. I tried to suppress my feelings because of Vidyut, but knowing you plan to divorce him after he recovers, I couldn’t hold back any longer. I’m not asking for anything now, just that you consider my proposal.”

Maya’s calm smile didn’t waver, though Varun’s sincerity was difficult to dismiss.

“Varun,” she began gently,“you’re a wonderful person who deserves someone who can return your feelings. But I don’t feel worthy of your affection.”

“Why do you say that, Maya?” Varun asked, his voice tinged with concern.

“Because I don’t feel deserving of anyone’s love. My answer is no, and I don’t foresee that changing. But I will consider your proposal, out of respect for your feelings,” Maya replied, her smile never faltering.

As she walked away, unaware that Siya had been eavesdropping, Siya’s lips curled into a spiteful smirk.

“Trying to ensnare Varun now, are we?” Siya thought bitterly.“A girl like you... I won’t let you get away with this. First, I’ll make sure Mom and Aunt know what you’re up to.”

With a determined stride, Siya hurried off to sow discord against Maya.

In the six months that had passed, little had changed in the Singhania household. Aside from Grandfather and Varun, the family’s animosity toward Maya had only deepened, their resentment festering with time.
