In the bathroom,
Vidyut stood beneath the cold cascade of water, his hands braced against the wall.
Despite the forceful spray, his piercing, icy blue eyes remained open, their gaze unfaltering.
Emotionless, Vidyut stared blankly at the wall. His stoic expression made it impossible to discern what was truly running through his mind.
Even in Britain’s biting cold, Vidyut stood under the freezing water for an entire hour.
An hour later, he emerged from the bathroom.
A white towel was wrapped low around his waist, and with another towel, he dried his damp hair.
Droplets of water glistened on his muscular frame, tracing the defined cuts of his V-shaped torso, slowly absorbing into the towel at his waist.
Words like handsome, attractive, sexy, and irresistibly charming often fell short when describing Vidyut’s presence. Today was no exception.
He glanced briefly at Maya, who was peacefully asleep.
Without another look, Vidyut walked into the closet.
Moments later, he reemerged, now dressed in a white t-shirt and loose trousers.
Grabbing his phone from the nightstand, he walked toward the balcony attached to the room.
Meanwhile, at Arya Mansion,
Maya’s grandfather sat in the living area, sipping his morning tea and reading the newspaper.
Just then, his phone rang.
Noticing the unfamiliar number, a flicker of confusion crossed his face.
Very few had access to his private number, so after a brief hesitation, he answered.
As soon as the call connected, a deep voice resonated from the other end. "Mr. Virendra Arya, you didn’t believe my words or the photos I sent last night, did you? Come see for yourself. Your granddaughter spent the entire night in Vidyut Singhania’s room. She might still be there."
Virendra Arya's aging eyes flared with anger, his grip tightening on the phone.
The night before, the same caller had sent photos of Maya entering and leaving Vidyut’s room—images that suggested a deeper relationship between them.
Yet, Virendra had dismissed them. He had immediately called Maya, asking for an explanation.
Maya, ever so clever, had offered an excuse.
She claimed that a service issue had taken her to Vidyut’s room, and during her visit, his breakfast tray had spilled on her, forcing her to change her clothes in his room.
In her grandfather’s eyes, Maya was pure and innocent. Trusting her words, he had accepted her explanation. But now, the caller's confidence had sown seeds of doubt in his mind.
The thought of Maya and Vidyut spending the entire night together ignited a fire within him.
Suddenly, a distant memory echoed in his mind—an old man’s voice mocking him, "Virendra, one day my grandson will take your granddaughter away, and you’ll just stand by and watch."
It was Angad Singhania’s voice, Vidyut’s grandfather.
Recalling those challenging words, Virendra Arya was seething with rage.
He immediately summoned the butler and inquired about Maya. The butler confirmed that Maya hadn’t returned home last night. She had stayed at the hotel.
Virendra’s suspicions solidified into certainty. He ordered his driver to ready the car. If he indeed found Maya in Vidyut’s room, he wasn’t sure what he would do.
As soon as the car arrived, Virendra Arya set off for Dream Hotel.
On the other side,
Maya stirred awake as the sunlight streamed through the glass walls, gently warming her face.
She blinked a few times, her gaze eventually settling on Vidyut.
He stood by the balcony door, watching her intently.
“Good morning,” she said softly, propping herself up against the headboard. She was wearing Vidyut’s loose black shirt, which he had dressed her in earlier that morning.
Vidyut didn’t respond, his gaze remaining fixed on her, void of emotion.
Sensing the tension, Maya picked up her phone from the nightstand and checked it.
There were numerous missed calls and messages from Riba and Sumit.
As she scrolled through the notifications, one particular message from Sumit caught her eye.
Her expression hardened as she read it.
Looking at Vidyut, she asked, “Why did you do this? Did you drug me? What do you want?”
Vidyut remained silent.
He approached her, his face unreadable, and bent down, placing a soft kiss on her forehead.
In a chilling voice, he whispered,“Soon, you’ll discover your true worth. And you’ll have all the answers you seek.”
Maya was left bewildered.
His words were cryptic, yet his tone wasn’t mocking or condescending. It seemed more like a warning, as if he was preparing her for something inevitable.
Leaving her in her confusion, Vidyut walked out of the room.
Outside the hotel, Vidyut spotted Rohit, who was waiting with his cars.
Rohit waved a set of divorce papers at him and asked,“You haven’t changed your mind, have you?”
Without missing a beat, Vidyut coldly asked,“Where are the diamonds?”
Rohit smirked and pulled out a black pouch from his overcoat pocket, waving it in front of Vidyut.
Once Rohit displayed the diamonds, Vidyut took the divorce papers. Maya’s signature was already on them.
Without hesitation, Vidyut signed the papers.
Their divorce was now nearly finalized.
After receiving the papers, Rohit handed over the black diamonds, completing their deal.
Vidyut briefly opened the pouch to inspect the contents. Inside were diamonds worth millions.
Slipping the pouch into his pocket, Vidyut remarked coldly,“I must say, you love Maya more than I thought. You gave me all the black diamonds just to make her happy.”
Rohit, without a hint of regret, smiled. “Maya is my world. I love her deeply. I would give my life for her. These diamonds are a small price to pay.”
Hearing their conversation, Sanjeev stood stunned. He couldn’t fully comprehend what was happening, but whatever Vidyut was doing to Maya left a bad taste in his mouth.
