Rohit, tall and handsome, exuded a dangerous allure. He was the same age as Vidyut, and tonight, dressed in a tailored grey vintage suit, he looked every bit the part of a powerful man with a mafia-like presence. Swirling a glass of red wine in his hand, Rohit emanated an air of sophistication and menace.

Vidyut, seated on the opposite couch, surveyed the room swiftly. They were in an opulent hall on the top floor of the resort, surrounded by their well-trained bodyguards, all dressed in crisp black and grey suits, standing watch in silence.

After a moment, Vidyut’s cold gaze settled on Rohit. His voice was steady and sharp. “You didn’t come here because of the tender. You’re here because of Maya. Did she send you to intimidate me into giving her a divorce?”

Rohit’s lips curled into a faint smile as he took a slow sip of his wine. Placing the glass down with deliberate grace, he leaned back, his expression unreadable. “You know very well what my relationship with Maya is,” he began, his voice smooth yet dangerous. “But since you’ve asked, let me clarify—Maya didn’t send me. She doesn't even care to look at me. I’m here on my own terms. No matter how much she despises me, my feelings for her remain the same. If any danger threatens her, it will have to go through me first. And right now, Vidyut, you are that threat. So, do the smart thing—grant her the divorce.”

His words, though calmly spoken, carried an unmistakable threat, lingering in the air between them.

Rohit’s eyes momentarily softened at the mention of Maya, a flicker of unresolved emotions surfacing. But Vidyut remained unmoved. Sanjeev, watching from the sidelines, felt a chill run down his spine. He had expected his boss, infamous for his temper, to explode with rage. Yet Vidyut sat there, calm, almost indifferent.

Without a trace of anger, Vidyut lit a cigar, every movement exuding a controlled elegance. After taking a deep drag, he asked, “If I divorce Maya, what do I get in return?”

Rohit didn’t hesitate. “Name your price. Whatever it is, I’m willing to give it. Just set her free.”

Vidyut’s lips curved slightly, but he remained silent, contemplating. Once he finished his cigar, he stubbed it out in the ashtray and spoke, his voice void of emotion. “Very well. I will divorce Maya. But in return, I want the diamonds that were stolen from the Glory Museum last month.”

Rohit’s expression hardened, his grip on the wine glass tightening. The black diamonds. Three months ago, those precious stones were stolen in a high-profile heist that even the FBI had failed to solve. The mastermind behind the theft was none other than Rohit himself. Yet, somehow, Vidyut knew.

Vidyut stood up, his cold gaze never leaving Rohit. “I may have been in a coma for six months, but I wasn’t dead. I’m well aware of what transpired in your world—both legal and illegal—during my absence. So don’t act surprised. Give me a simple answer. Yes or no. If you agree, I’ll divorce Maya. If not, you won’t have those diamonds for long.”

Rohit’s mind raced. He knew Vidyut wasn’t bluffing. If Vidyut had this much information, retrieving the diamonds wouldn’t be difficult for him. After a long pause, Rohit exhaled slowly. “Alright,” he said quietly. “You’ll have the diamonds. But after you get them and divorce Maya, you will stay out of her life forever.”

Vidyut nodded without hesitation. “I agree.”

Rohit felt a sense of relief wash over him. Vidyut Singhania’s word was ironclad. In the world of power and influence, everyone knew Vidyut never went back on a promise.

As Vidyut turned to leave, he paused briefly and said, “Expect the divorce papers tomorrow.”

Rohit nodded. “And you’ll have the diamonds.”

With that, Vidyut pocketed his hands and strode out of the room.

Ten minutes after Vidyut left, Rohit’s right-hand man, Akshay, approached him cautiously. “Boss, do you really believe Mr. Vidyut will divorce Madam Maya? And so easily?”

Rohit took a slow sip of his wine before replying. “I don’t trust Vidyut Singhania at all. But his word, Akshay—his word is priceless. If he says it, he will do it.”

Akshay said nothing further. He, too, knew the weight of Vidyut Singhania’s promises.
