Chapter 4

"What is wrong?" Taehyung asks with worry when the lycan flinches away and whimpers in fear.

"S-sorry. N-not o-on purp-pose." The lycan barely whispers as his body trembles, waiting to be beaten.

"You did nothing wrong. You're okay. I won't hurt you." Taehyung reaches out and gently pats the lycan's head. The lycan flinches when Taehyung first touches him, then calms when Taehyung's touch is just as gentle as before.

After a few moments, the lycan calms and slowly looks at Taehyung. When he sees the worry in Taehyung's eyes, he begins to realize that the human really will not hurt him for turning.

"What's your name?" Taehyung asks as he continues to gently pet the lycan.

"N-name?" The lycan whispers and thinks. "Jungkook."

"Jungkook." Taehyung smiles at the lycan. "You have a beautiful name. My name is Kim Taehyung."

"Taehyung." The lycan mumbles and looks at the human.

Now that Jungkook is in his human form, Taehyung can clearly see the injuries and scars on the lycan. His heart lurches as he looks at the lycan's scarred and injured body.

"You must be in so much pain," Taehyung whispers with teary eyes as he slowly reaches out to cradle Jungkook's face in the palm of his hand.

"Why cry?" Jungkook timidly asks as the human gently cradles his face.

"Because it hurts here when I see your injuries." Taehyung places his hand over his heart as he explains the pain he feels to Jungkook.

"Hurts," Jungkook whispers and listens to Taehyung's heartbeat.

"You must be in so much pain." Taehyung gently brushes his thumb over Jungkook's cheek.

When a bird chirps outside of the window, Jungkook quickly turns to look. His eyes light up when he sees the little birds sitting on the balcony railing. Seeing Jungkook's eyes light up, Taehyung softly smiles and watches as the lycan watches the birds.

Taehyung slowly reaches out to brush his fingers through Jungkook's long hair. When the lycan feels the human brush his fingers through his hair, he quickly looks at him. Taehyung instantly smiles at the lycan. "You have beautiful hair." He hums as he continues to brush his fingers through Jungkook's black and white hair.

"Short," Jungkook mutters as he examines Taehyung's hair.

"Do you want to cut your hair?" Taehyung softly asks and watches as Jungkook contemplates his question.

"Yes." Jungkook nods after a few moments of contemplation.

"Okay. I will look up videos to try to learn something." Taehyung smiles and grabs his laptop. 

Filled with curiosity, Jungkook scoots closer to Taehyung and watches as the human finds videos of how to cut hair. He watches as the video plays, and a man tells the viewers how to cut hair.

While Taehyung watches the video and soaks in the information, Jungkook reaches out and touches the screen. As Jungkook looks at everything with the curiosity of a child and the wariness of an injured animal, Taehung wonders what kind of hell Jungkook has been raised in.

"You're moving around too much," Taehyung mutters when he sees blood seeping through the bandage on Jungkook's side.

"Oh." Jungkook freezes with fear, afraid he has done something to upset the human.

The lycan stays completely still as Taehyung gets up to grab the medical supplies. When Taehyung walks out of the room, he stubs his toe on the door and curses up a storm. The human wails with pain as he hops on one foot, and tears prick his eyes. "Fucking hell! Oh shit! Fuck!" He curses as he hops to the medical supplies before limping back to Jungkook. "That door is out to get me." He pouts and sits on the bed.
