The hotel residents were adding the last touches of decoration, making sure everything—everything was perfect for his majesty's arrival.
Everyone was now gathered in the lobby—including Alastor. With everything happening around her, Estella almost forgot of their—quarrel from the other day. Seeing the Radio Demon standing there in a casual manner completely unbothered, caused a sense of annoyance to overtake her. She very much wanted to make him suffer for what he had said but by doing so, it would only confirm his assumptions. No—she couldn't have that.
Instead, she put on a poker face and remained passive, pretending as if his presence didn't affect her one bit.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Alastor's eyes widened at the sight of her, as if he was surprised to see her under the same roof as him. This made her slightly smirk, knowing she might've ruined a scheme of his.
Can't plot anything anymore with the owner of his soul around now, can he?
After recovering from his shock, Alastor moved towards Charlie, taking his place beside the Princess of Hell and her girlfriend to welcome their royal visitor, whilst Estella made her way to join the other residents, picking out a corner as far as possible to avoid being seen by the king.
"Okay everyone, it's showtime!" Charlie said, quickly opening the front door, revealing a rather short figure compared to Hell's habitants.
Estella noticed Lucifer looked almost the same as he did back in Heaven. He had that same charming persona he used to charm Lilith—Adam's first wife. That same warm smile which would light up the whole world was one of his many features she could still see present, just when his eyes landed on his daughter did he reveal that warm smile. There is no question as to where Charlie got her smile from.
"Charlie!" The king exclaimed, going in for a hug, tightly embracing his daughter whilst Charlie was having trouble in order to breathe from the lack of air. "Oh, it's so good to see you!" He continued while still bear hugging his daughter, a chuckle then leaving his mouth.
Estella watched from afar, amused by the scene unfolding before her, hearing Angel Dust comment on the moment silently beside her to Husk, the two of the silently laughing. She then noticed Alastor's glare sent towards the king, unbeknownst to Lucifer, of course.
"It's good to see you too, Dad," Charlie replied, struggling between breaths to form words. Once her father finally let go of her, she quickly cleared her throat. "Welcome! To the Hazbin Hotel!"
Lucifer's attention was swiftly diverted from the nicely decorated lobby to a black and white, one eyed cat which Charlie kept around the hotel—Keekee. The cat started rubbing itself against Lucifer's leg while purring out loud, causing the king to bend down and rub Keekee's head out of adoration before another set of animals flew over to him. "Razzle—Dazzle," he greeted the miniature sized flying goats that resembled much more like dragons. He then said a few words with the two small sized demons, something she couldn't hear from where she was but the room suddenly grew dark but went to its usual colors as earlier.
Dazzle and Dazzle then flew off, leaving Lucifer to quickly make his way over to his daughter to resume the tour.
"Wow, this place sure looks—uh..." he began, causing Estella's eyes to narrow down at Lucifer's obvious unimpressed expression. "It's got a lot of character," he continued after pacing forward a bit to survey the hotel before his gaze finally landed on the bar, its state the most out of place among the rest of the hotel's decor. "What in the unholy Hell is that?" The King of Hell suddenly exclaimed, gesturing to the bar.
Just then, Alastor manifested himself beside Angel Dust, responding to Lucifer's exclamation, "Just some of the renovations we had done."
"Adds a bit of color, don't you think?" Alastor turned his head to Lucifer, leaning onto his staff for support with a smug looking grin on his face.
She furrowed her brows.
What was Alastor doing?
"And you are?" Lucifer questioned, eyes narrowed before the Radio Demon suddenly appeared beside the king, introducing himself in his usual way then shaking the king's hand before wiping his hand on his coat. Alastor then proceeded to insult Lucifer's height.
Quite bold of him, she had to admit.
Did he take what she had said all those years ago about Lucifer too seriously?
The two of them proceeded to exchange 'friendly' words, forcing Charlie to separate the two before the situation went any worse. She then went on to show the parlor, then going on to express her gratitude towards Alastor, turning Lucifer's smile upside down into a frown.
Alastor placed a gentle hand on Charlie's shoulder, irking Lucifer even further. He glared at the gesture before quickly averting his daughter's attention to introducing her other friends.
Estella internally groaned when the princess went along Lucifer's idea, first introducing him to her girlfriend; Vaggie. Almost instantly, a look of relief washed over Lucifer's features, causing her to question—did Lucifer think Alastor was Charlie's partner?
"And this is Sir Pentious and Angel Dust—our guests!"
"Husk is our bartender, Niffty is our housekeeper, and Estella-"
"Estella! Uhm, how- how've you been?" Lucifer quickly interrupted his daughter, his eyes widening at the sight of the female fallen angel he had come to grown fond of over the course of years he has lived.
"I have had better days, I suppose," she admitted, briefly glancing at Alastor but then quickly returning her gaze to the king, giving him a reassuring smile.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Alastor turn his gaze towards Lucifer, his look hardening.
The king was about to respond when suddenly, all of the sudden, the hotel's chandelier fell from the ceiling and to the ground, causing debris to cloud the room, making everyone around who had inhaled it to start coughing.
Estella merely swatted a hand in front of her face, using her one of her many abilities to clear the room of any dust. However, when she had cleared the room of the debris, standing where the chandelier had fallen was none other than Lucifer, who now had a wide grin on his face.
The next thing she knew, he began to sing.
