The sun was setting as Raimon's group made their way back to their campsite, each of them carrying bags of groceries. The evening air was cool, and the path was lined with trees that rustled gently in the breeze. Despite the peaceful surroundings, their minds were still buzzing with thoughts of the intense match between Shizen and Inakuni.
After Shizen's first goal, things had taken a turn for the worse for them. Inakuni's relentless offense had pushed Shizen back, freezing them in place until one of their members showed up.
Hikaru broke the silence, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "Can we really beat Shizen? They are too strong for us to defeat."
The group fell silent, unable to deny their current predicament. Shizen had dominated their matches so far, showing a level of skill and coordination that seemed insurmountable.
Coach Endou finally spoke, his tone thoughtful. "Shizen is indeed a formidable team. Their coordination and strategy are exceptional. But remember, we've faced tough opponents before and come out stronger each time. If you are already thinking of losing, it will only hold you back."
Hikaru frowned, looking down at his feet. "I know, but they seem unbeatable. Did you see how they adapted so quickly? It's like they knew every move we made before we made it."
Endou nodded. "Yes, they are highly adaptable. But that doesn't mean they're invincible. Every team has a weakness, even Shizen. We just need to find it."
Shindou, usually calm and collected, looked up with a spark of determination. "We need to think outside the box and come up with strategies that they won't expect. They may have outplayed us today, but that doesn't mean they will tomorrow."
Sanguko, always the optimist, tried to lift their spirits. "We've got the skills and the teamwork. We just need to believe in ourselves and our training. Shizen might be strong, but so are we."
Then suddenly, someone cut into their conversation. "Endou!" called out a familiar voice.
Endou looked around and saw a familiar muscular man on a bicycle, carrying a basket on his back. "Hijikata!" he exclaimed, a wide grin spreading across his face.
Hijikata, with his signature aubergine hair and a streak in the middle, hopped off his bike and approached the group. "Long time no see, Endou. What brings you here to Okinawa? You could have told me."
Endou laughed, clapping Hijikata on the back. "Hijikata, it's good to see you! We are only here for training camp. How have you been? We never get a chance to contact you."
Hijikata smiled warmly. "I've been good, just keeping busy with work and looking out for my siblings. They keep me on my toes. It's great to see you two again."
Haruna stepped forward, her eyes lighting up. "Hijikata-san, it's great to see you! We have seen your siblings at the Shizen festival. They grew so much more than the last time we met them."
"Oh, so you have seen their match against Shizen then," Hijikata said, blinking in surprise.
"Your siblings are amazing players. They have really got stronger," Endou commented.
Hijikata laughed heartily. "Haha, I say they are a handful, but they've got a lot of heart. Just like you guys." He looked at the group, then focused on the three teens standing behind Endou. "And who are these?"
"Ah, Hijikata, let me introduce you," Endou said, gesturing to the teens. "This is Kagayama Hikaru, a forward; Sanguko Taichi, a goalkeeper; and Shindou Takuto, our game-maker and captain of the Raimon team."
Hijikata nodded, impressed. "Nice to meet you all. Endou's got a good eye for talent, so I'm sure you're all exceptional players."
Shindou stepped forward. "It's an honor to meet you, Hijikata-san. We've heard a lot about you."
