"I see. Well, that's a shame. There is nothing we can do about it." Ryuu backs away with Hiro following along as they join back with their other teammates.
Shindou pushed himself up from the grass where he had been sitting, the intensity in his eyes unmissable. "Wait!" he called out, his voice cutting through the silence like a knife.
The members of Shizen turned in unison to face him. The air was still, charged with anticipation, as if the world itself was holding its breath.
Shindou took a step forward, his eyes locking on Ryuu and Hiro. "Let's make a deal," he proposed, his voice steady but carrying an undercurrent of urgency. "I don't know why the two of you did not join the match, and I have no idea what you are talking about," he continued, his words aimed directly at Ryuu and Hiro. "How about a 2 vs 2 match? Me and Tsurugi against the two of you. If we win, you tell us exactly what you mean. If you win, we will grant what you want."
Ryuu considered the proposal thoughtfully. He glanced at Takuya, who merely shrugged his shoulders. Before Ryuu could respond, Hiro spoke up, his voice confident. "Alright, we accept your offer."
Ryuu couldn't help but feel a mix of frustration and amusement at Hiro's impulsive decision. "What are you doing?" he whispered urgently as he grabbed Hiro's arm.
"Grabbing the opportunity," Hiro replied confidently, with his tone sounding like he was stating an obvious fact.
Ryuu couldn't help but facepalm. "You know they just want to see our skills, right?"
Hiro gave Ryuu's arm a reassuring pat. "I know, but think about it. We could use that wish in the future, not for us, but for Arion."
Ryuu's expression softened at the mention of Arion, their fallen comrade whose memory spurred them on in every match. He scanned the faces of their teammates, searching for their input. "Any thoughts?"
"Maybe Hiro is right for once," Haru said, his voice breaking the silence. A small smirk played on his lips as he addressed Hiro.
Hiro's face scrunched up in mock offense. "Hey!" he protested, his voice filled with playful indignation. "I can always come up with better ideas. Thank you very much. Hmpph." He crossed his arms, pouting in a way that made the rest of the team chuckle despite the seriousness of the situation.
"Yeah, yeah. Quiet now," Haru retorted. "What I'm saying is, that granting their request could benefit Arion in the long run. Let them catch a glimpse of our skills, just a taste. You know what I mean." A smirk played at the corner of Haru's lips.
Ryuu glanced around at his other teammates, who only shrugged their shoulders in agreement. After a moment of contemplation, he nodded in agreement. "Alright, we will do it." He then looked at Hiro, his expression stern. "But don't get too carried away. Got that!?"
Hiro grinned confidently, offering a mock salute. "Got it, Ryuu-san. I'll keep it under control."
Ryuu shook his head with a small chuckle, knowing all too well Hiro's tendency to get caught up in the heat of the moment. Turning back to Shindou, he extended his hand in agreement. "We accept your challenge. But don't expect us to take it easy on you."
Shindou returned the nod, a resolute glint in his eyes. "We wouldn't have it any other way. The first to get three points wins the round."
"Alright, let's get started," Ryuu declared.
Taking their positions on the field, Ryuu and Hiro faced off against Shindou and Tsurugi, the tension palpable as both teams prepared to clash in a showdown of skill and determination.
The stage was set for an intense showdown between them as they were eager to prove their worth and uncover the mysteries that lay beneath the surface. The air crackled with anticipation as Takuya as the referee blew the whistle, signaling the start of the 2 vs 2 showdown.
