the light blue box was kind of light, but surprisingly a little too heavy for its size.

Seungmin held the box tightly in his hands, contemplating if he should open it or not, after all, he didn't know what was inside.

Curiosity got the best of him.

The boy slowly and carefully placed the box on an old wooden table that was near. The emotions he was experiencing right now were unexplainable. The box looked so different from the others, indicating there is gonna be something interesting inside.

Maybe.

Seungmin finally opened the box. To his surprise, it didn't look that interesting as he imagined. He only saw some old unimportant papers stacked in the box. That was until he took the papers out.

He couldn't believe his eyes. The things in the box opened a whole new world for him to explore and get lost in.

There were a few important things in the there, Seungmin knew exactly who they belonged to. It was his mother. His lovely mother. The boy didn't even need to know her, he just knew that these things belonged to her at some point in her past.

His eyes were opened wide, he wasn't making any sounds. Just standing there, surprised. He felt like a whole new chapter was going to start from this point. And he needed to take action, immediately.

Seungmin was observing the things that were stored in the box, his shaking hands slowly taking them out and placing them on the wooden table. After moments of pacing around the attic , the old floor making loud creaking noises, the boy decided to stop walking and collect himself.

He sat in front of the table, staring at the things he took out of the box. He found them so precious. It felt like his mother was right there, embracing him with a warm hug and saying "everything is going to be okay, me and dad will be back soon"

Seungmin really wanted to get emotional right now, spending a few heartwarming moments with his mother in his mind, but he didn't have time for that. He needed to find answers and he knew it's not gonna be easy.

One thing from the box really caught his attention. It was a photo, photo of two beautiful young women standing next to each other, smiling, they both looked so happy, they looked like they weren't aware of all the bad things that are happening on this planet. They were just enjoying their lives to the fullest.

Seungmin also noticed something else, they were both wearing really loose clothes so he wasn't able to see their bodies properly.

But then it suddenly all made sense, loose clothing, the need to cover their bodies, especially the stomach area. They were pregnant. Both of them. And they needed to cover it, because maybe, just maybe the two women were a little too young to have a baby.

It all made sense now.

One of these women was definitely his mother, he just has to find out which one is it. If it's the one with the long thick hair or the one with the short, but stylish bob haircut.

The boy held the photo in his uncontrollably shaking hands and stared at it, feeling a mix of surprise, disbelief and anger. He was angry at himself for not exploring the attic earlier. Just the thought of how much information he could've known if he just started earlier was making his blood boil.

Seungmin noticed other things that were previously placed in the box, now being displayed on the table.

There were some old makeup tools that his mother probably used, some small doodles, one of them being a doodle of fireworks alongside with pink hearts. The boy wondered what that meant. Probably nothing important. There were also some other photos of various sceneries. All of the photos being taken in different countries across the world. His mother must've loved photography.

There was also a small digital camera. Seungmin was really excited about it, until he found out it's not working anymore. "No no no it can't end like this, what if there are some important photos?" The boy started panicking in his mind, but he was still determined to fix the camera and reveal every secret that his mother left here.

He also started to feel bad about the random papers that were on top of the box when he opened it. Now their place was on the floor under the window. Seungmin gently picked them up, wondering what's written on them.

After he checked, disappointment started showing on the boy's face.

He didn't get it. Why would his mother keep a bunch of papers with random words scribbled on them? he thought he was starting to really understand his mother but this made him feel a little weird about her. There were words like "love, fireworks, child". What does that even mean?

Seungmin examined the papers , thinking of what it could mean. Sadly, no ideas were coming to his mind. Usually he's really good at coming up with different ideas and knows how to act in messed up situations. But this was different. He didn't know what to do, he was completely lost. The boy was just sitting in front of the table, staring at it. Where the hell is he supposed to start with his research?

As he was holding the papers in his hands, something fell out of them. It was another piece of paper, visibly smaller and more damaged than the others. The little piece of paper looked like it was from the 70s or something, but seungmin was sure it couldn't be that old. The damage on it just made it look a little older.

He started reading the letter, making sure to read every word carefully and slowly. The letter said:

"Hello,
This letter is for someone who is really dear to me and I don't want to ever lose them.
I just wanted to tell you something important. I need to leave, as soon as possible. I can't live like this anymore. I'm wishing the best for you and your child. I hope we will meet together soon in the future. Don't ever forget about me, I'll do the same I promise.

with all love, xoxo."

Re-reading the letter millions of times didn't help the boy to understand better. It was just making him even more confused. Who would send such sad and meaningful message to his mother? Who had to leave? It must've been someone who was close to his mother, because the person knew about her pregnancy which she was clearly trying to hide.

Was it her boyfriend? That was also one of the options. Somebody who truly loved her must've written that. But why would he need to leave?

And what's with the ending of the later? "with all love, xoxo." What's that? Why is that written there but there's no signature of the person who wrote it?

Seungmin had lots of questions, but no answers.

It was so frustrating.

He suddenly felt the need to tell somebody about this mysterious discovery. He knew exactly who to invite over. Felix.

The brunette boy quickly grabbed his phone, found Felix's number in the contacts list and called him.

"Hey Felix, you won't believe what just happened, it's just crazy. And I would really need your help with it"

Seungmin hung up, not letting the poor boy on the other line speak nor process the information. He was hoping his friend understood what he was implying and will come over as quickly as possible.
