No no no... that can't be him right?

Seungmin wasn't believing his own eyes. It felt like he was some sort of magnet, always being where jeongin is.

But this is extreme, what is the possibility of jeongin working in the same café that seungmin is sitting in right now? It felt like the universe was pulling them together. Always. it's so weird, they don't know each other that well and sure, they maybe had one deep talk, but that doesn't change the fact they are basically strangers. Strangers who know a little more about one another.

Seungmin tried to surpass the thoughts about the fox boy, he has no right to focus on that at the moment. His main focus is Felix, no matter how hard it is to hold back the annoying thoughts.

The brown haired boy finally stopped staring at the annoyingly cute boy, which obviously wasn't the main problem here. The main problem is the person who is sitting across from him. Felix. The blonde boy was still eyeing the barista up and down, not really caring if he gets caught. What's wrong with that boy?

Seungmin tried to make his friend focus again with a surprisingly loud cough, it wasn't his intention to make it that loud, unfortunately there was no other choice.

It didn't work.

He tried it again, even louder this time.

Still nothing.

Is Felix being hypnotized or something?

"hellooo... the earth is calling Felix" Seungmin spoke, his tone growing impatient.

That's when the blonde boy finally turned his sight back. The only thing he saw was the brown haired boy's confused expression. His face was like a paper with millions of questions written on it. Seungmin was actually starting to get a bit suspicious about his friend's strange behavior.

"Could you stop staring at him? It's embarrassing and rude.." Seungmin spoke, regretting his sentence right after. He was slightly annoyed yes, but that gave him no right to come out with mean words like that. Plus, his tone wasn't helping at all. The built up annoyance was really showing in the boy's face and now also in his words.

Felix didn't say anything in return. He was just looking down at his lap, realizing what he did was wrong.

At least he's aware.

The table was filled with awkward silence. The silence that sometimes happens between these two boys isn't awkward at all, they just don't have anything to talk about, which makes them stay quiet and enjoy the presence of one another. But this silence was awkward as hell. Felix was too embarrassed to say a word after getting scolded by his friend. And seungmin on the other hand was too annoyed to even speak up.

Maybe it's a minor thing to be annoyed about. Maybe seungmin shouldn't be annoyed at all. It was really hard for him not to,especially when jeongin is his friend and seungmin just witnessed Felix literally checking out the fox boy who was still standing behind the counter, taking in the orders and being focused as ever trying not to mess up any of the coffees.

The awkward silence suddenly got broken by the so called barista, aka jeongin. He was standing next to the table, his head slightly tilted to the side, waiting for the two boys to order their drinks. The fox boy wasn't even bothered by Seungmin's presence. He was treating him like any other customer, giving absolutely no damn about the things they talked about and the incident that happened at his house. This behavior triggered something in Seungmin, something that wasn't peaceful at all. It was a mix of emotions which can't be properly specified. At least not now. But there sure was a hint of anger.

Jeongin was just acting like they've never seen each other, as if they were complete strangers.

Seungmin didn't need the fox boy to be all happy and immediately start a conversation, maybe a quick wave or even a smile would be enough. But there was nothing, not even a slight trace of anything that happened. If Seungmin didn't have any self-reflection left, he would probably raise his voice a bit at the barista, telling him all the things that are going through his mind. Of course, he can't do that. There's other people around who clearly want to enjoy their afternoon and don't want to listen to some dumb kid's problems.

The brown haired boy still had a few minutes to think about jeongin's strange behavior, because for his benefit, Felix is the most indecisive person known to man, he can't even choose what to order in under five minutes.

The table was filled with awkward silence again. This time there was one change, the fox boy was still there, impatiently tapping his finger on the surface of the table, waiting for Felix to finally choose his order.

Another 5 minutes later

That was when the blonde boy chose his drink. It was one of the sweetest coffees on the menu. Seungmin already managed to think of many remarks about his friend's choice, most of them being about how sweet and unhealthy that is. But he has to admit, this sweet drink perfectly matches Felix's personality. Once you take a sip, you can't get enough, you need to feel the sweetness over and over again. That's exactly how it's like when you meet Felix. His warm and sweet demeanor instantly makes you feel the need to continue talking to him for as long as possible. When you think about it, people can be compared to all sorts of things pretty easily. It just depends on your point of view and how creative you are.

Jeongin finally went to make their coffees, leaving the two best friends alone again. They weren't talking at all.

Seungmin also noticed something. He noticed a change in Felix's behavior and most importantly in his body language when he's talking to the fox boy. Felix seems a lot more shy and awkward, which isn't that common for him. Maybe it's just another stupid assumption, but maybe there actually is something to it. Also, at the time jeongin was making his way back to the coffee machine, seungmin caught his best friend staring at the barista again. He didn't say anything this time, just wanting to see what will happen after.

Nothing happened. The blonde boy stopped staring after a while, smiling to himself like a fool.

There must be something to it.

——

When the boys finished their drinks, they decided it's the best time to leave. Not to go home, just leave the café. They paid for their drinks, Felix's one being the more expensive one, which was expected since there were so many sweet additions to it.

Without even realizing it, the two best friends spent 2 hours in that café, meaning it was 5pm now, which isn't early but not too late either.

Seungmin was still suspicious about his friend's behavior, not really wanting to ask him directly about it. What if it's not true? He would just embarrass himself. Yes, they are best friends, but there still are some things that are a little embarrassing to talk about. Such as invading each other's love life without asking for permission.

Neither of the boys wanted to go home, so it was an awkward walk to who knows where. This whole day was so awkward. But why? That's the question that nobody knows the answer to. Sometimes there are days where you feel like you don't have much to talk about with your closest one. It's not that you don't want to talk to them, it's that your mind is completely somewhere else. It usually works for both of the people. They like spending time with each other, but unfortunately they don't know how to.

This is exactly the situation Seungmin and Felix are in right now.

This whole situation felt like it has no escape.

But then suddenly, Felix spoke up.

"The barista was kinda cute, don't you think?" His voice was quiet. He probably wasn't believing he actually said that.

Seungmin was experiencing the same disbelief right after he heard the sentence that just left the blonde boy's mouth.

So his assumption were right for the whole time.

Or not?

Does Felix like Jeongin?
