(we're back in the present now)

Seungmin was in his room, the light blue box placed on his bed. The boy was still mad at his uncle for stealing the picture. He didn't know what was worse. His uncle going to his room without permission or his uncle actually looking at and stealing his personal things. Why was the man so goddamn nosy?

And not to mention the events that happened a few minutes ago. It looked like jeongin's name was some kind of curse. As soon as the words left seungmin's mouth, the old man started acting crazy. What's wrong with jeongin? His uncle made it seem like the fox boy is some wanted criminal. Which he obviously isn't.

It was getting late meaning the brown haired boy didn't have many things to do anymore. He decided to text Felix and clarify some stuff with him.

10:48pm

Hey Lix, I just wanted to ask you if you're free tomorrow? We can go to that café you always wanted to take me to. Plus, I need to tell you something.

11:23pm

Hi seungmin, no way you actually wanna go to that place. You've been always rejecting it whenever I mentioned it. But I'm not complaining of course. Meet me there tomorrow at 3pm.

The brown haired boy was already half asleep when his phone buzzed. Felix always takes a while to respond, but it's okay, at least he's responding in the first place.

Seungmin just looked at the message, not really wanting to engage in the conversation anymore. He never does this, but this time he decided to leave Felix on seen in hopes his friend isn't gonna be mad or upset about it. It's really annoying when somebody leaves you on seen, but seungmin had the feeling that it's unfair to Felix if he continues to texting him, so instead of responding dryly to his friend, it would be better to cut off the conversation. He'll see him tomorrow after all.

The boy's gaze darted to the light blue box again, it still pained him knowing that he can't look at the photo his uncle stole. He has to find the picture, and more importantly, the reason why is the old man suddenly acting like a freak. It didn't make sense at all. it's just a photo, after all. Yes, it's a photo that the old mean clearly didn't want his nephew to see, but the so called nephew already made a really strong emotional connection to the photo. He can't just let it go, even if it meant big trouble.

Everything was so confusing now. Of course, seungmin's uncle was always acting like a cold man but ever since he noticed his nephew knows more than he's supposed to, he's like a freak, always making sure to be mad at the boy for even the smallest things. This man has some serious issues going on inside his head.

Seungmin didn't even have energy to do anything now. He felt like a part of himself was being taken away. It's just a stupid photo, why is he so connected to it? Maybe because it's the only thing he has left from his mother. She surely was an amazing woman. Only if he could ask someone, anyone, about his mother. Sadly, he doesn't know any of her friends and the only person that could tell him more about her clearly doesn't want to talk about anything including the poor woman. He acts like she didn't even exist.

The boy made his way to the bathroom, only to take a quick shower that would hopefully help him with clearing his mind a bit. It's so late now, his uncle is probably sleeping already. Seungmin doesn't know where the man is, the last time he saw him was when he was being kicked out of his office. And now it's not a really good time to go searching for him, that man is crazy, who knows what could happen and who knows if the man is even home. It's one of his hidden talents, disappearing without a trace.

Without any hesitation, the boy took his clothes off and hopped into the shower, really looking forward to calming down his nerves a bit, even if it's temporary. The hot water suddenly hit his body, causing seungmin to let out a quiet hissing sound, but he quickly adjusted to the hot liquid running down his body. Hot showers were like some sort of a coping mechanism for him. Whenever he feels overwhelmed, he just jumps into the shower and all his worries are gone. It's also a great way to just stop thinking about anything and focus only on one thing, the water.

After his usual washing session, seungmin quickly dried himself with a white towel. It's kind of weird, but they only had white towels at home. Every cloth in their house was white. The bedsheets, the towels and even all the table cloths. Maybe it's just another dumb idea of how to make this house perfect. Seungmin's uncle always wanted to look perfect in every situation. This state of mind was reflecting to all of the things he can control. For example, the looks of the house. Everything needs to be perfectly decorated and clean. This perfect environment is just a cover up for all the bad things that are happening inside of this house. Seungmin hated this house, but the thing he hated even more was how fake his uncle is. Every time someone comes over the old man acts all sweet as if he wasn't screaming his lungs out just a few moments before.

Before getting out of the bathroom, the boy took one last glance at himself in the mirror, only seeing how pathetic he looked. His looks now were the most accurate view of how you would express a failure. He was the failure. The nephew who can't even stand up for himself when it comes to his uncle being mean to him. The best friend who sometimes purposefully avoids meeting his other friends. The son who can't even find any information about his parents. The person who everyone secretly hates.

This is how seungmin feels about himself right now.
