TRIGGER WARNING: mentions of self harm

As we walked to the Dairy Queen it started to get pretty cold, and all I had on was a long sleeve shirt and some shorts. I always wore either a long sleeve shirt, or a jacket. I guess Ponyboy noticed that I was cold because he asked if I wanted his jacket. "Sure if you're too not cold. I left my jacket at your house." I said smiling as he put his brown leather jacket on my shoulders, I never did find out where he got that jacket. (If you know you know 😭😭) I blushed and thanked him. He told me I looked amazing in it and I blushed even more.

When we walked to the Dairy Queen there weren't many people outside. When we finally reached the restaurant Ponyboy ordered us both our own chocolate shakes. I have always been addicted to chocolate, like how Two-Bit was addicted to beer. I would eat anything with chocolate. In fact that's what me and Steve bonded over the most, our love of chocolate.

We talked for a while about how school was going, we went to different schools. Ponyboy went to Will Rodger's High School and I went to Jenks High School. I wished we went to the same school, in fact if we did we probably would have met earlier. The first time we met was on a school field trip to an aquarium. I had gotten separated from my class and was going picked on from kids that went to my class. He told them that if they didn't leave me alone they would have problems, while holding his switchblade. We could all look tuff if we wanted to. After the older kids left, Ponyboy helped me find my class again. When it was time for lunch we found each other and started to talk. That's when I found out he was a Greaser. I thought he was crazy, but I didn't tell him that. I'm glad I didn't tell him that because if I did then we probably wouldn't be friends.

After around 20 minutes I noticed someone out of the corner of my eye, someone that looked a lot like Sodapop. "Hey doesn't that look like Sodapop?" I asked before taking a sip of chocolate.

"Oh yeah it does...wait that is Soda. I wonder why he is here," Ponyboy looked over his shoulder. Both our eyes widened when we saw his arm wrap around a girls waist. Soda hadn't been with another girl since Sandy. I had never met Sandy but I knew that everyone hated her because she cheated on Sodapop, and gotten pregnant by another guy. Not only that but when Soda was willing to help take care of the baby, she moved to Florida. And that was all I need to hear to know that I hated Sandy. Sodapop was such a sweet guy and it didn't make sense how someone could hurt him so bad.

"I thought he was still upset over Sandy." It was weird that Soda would go out with a girl without telling anyone. Usually he would be really excited about going on a date.

"Yeah he is... should we go ask whats going on? Holy shit!" Pony turned around quickly to face me again.

"Well excuse your language." I had never heard Ponyboy cuss, mainly because he wasn't allowed to cuss. Darry had never let him cuss, and also Pony just didn't like cussing.

"Sorry but we gotta go, he's with Sherri Valance! Look Ill explain later come on," Pony put the money on the table, grabbed my hand and started running. Pony was on the track team back then and I wasn't, so I almost tripped like 10 times. As we ran, my pin straight dirty blonde hair whacked me in the face. I loved my hair so much but it got in the way a lot. My hair was very straight, even when I tried to curl it. It was real long, especially when it got wet. I usually kept it in a ponytail, but this time I spent most of my morning trying to find my jacket so I didn't have time to put it up. People would say that my air complements my eyes, I have hazel eyes. I don't like them very. much, there real boring. I have freckles that are sprinkled across my face, they suit me really well better than my eyes did. I was also really short for a 14 year old but it didn't bother me much.

When we finally reached the park, I was really out of breath. I had never been good at running, I was on the track team once but I hated it. The only reason I tried out was because Kinsley tried out. I was never really into sports,  I had always liked art type stuff more, I played the french horn. I was in band, I loved it, and I was really good at it. I have always loved marching band and I had done it every year of high school, the teacher loved me and i loved her. Her name was Ms. Jay and she was a newer teacher to the school, however like I said I abselutly loved her.
