I woke up the next morning to the amazing smell of of eggs, bacon, and toast. I knew it had to be Darry cooking because Sodapop never cooked and Ponyboy didn't know how to cook bacon. I slowly sat up as I was waking up, and I instantly saw Two-Bit just sitting right by my feet staring at me.
"Morning kid! How did you sleep? I bet you slept amazing, this couch is so comfterbal!" Two-Bit screached like a hyena, I was worried he was going to wake someone else up.

"Two-Bit shut up! You're going to wake everyone else up!" I whisper-yelled, just trying to get my point across.
"You don't have to worry about it, everyone else is already awake. You slept till nine!" I then noticed Ponyboy standing in the bathroom standing in front of the mirror, he was putting a ton of grease in it. It was starting to become brown at the roots, I loved the way it looked. But he hated it. I honestly thought it was adorable, and I told him that a lot, but he still hated it. I guess some things just don't go through to people.

"Wait it's already nine?!" I asked two when I finally woke up all the way.
"Yep! Don't worry though you haven't missed anything, well you missed Ponyboy walking around for like 20 minutes without a shirt on, but that's all!" Two-bit always teased me and Ponyboy even though we weren't dating, we just liked each other. I don't think I could ever admit to anyone other than Ponyboy himself that I had a crush on him.

"Two-Bit shut your trap! We are not dating for the last time!" Ponyboy said as he came out of the bathroom with his hair all greased up, and it looked so good. I stared at pony in awe, how could someone look that good?
"Whatever, I think breakfast will be ready in a moment." As Two-Bit walked to the kitchen to go annoy his next victim he smacked Ponyboy on the back of the head. Pony ignored him and sat next to me on the couch.

"How did you sleep?" He was just so cute, I wanted to hug him and never let go. I then remembered that I had just woken up and my hair was probably insane. So I reached into my bag that sat next to the couch and pulled out my small blue hair brush. I always carried a hairbrush with me because I usually leave my hair down. Also my friends at school often need a hairbrush so I just let them use it.

"I slept amazing. As much as I hate to admit it, Two-Bit was right, this couch really is comfortable." I said.

"Yeah I think we all have had to admit that Two-Bit was right at some point. So there is this new Paul Newman movie that is coming out, and I don't wanna go alone. So I was wondering if you maybe wanted to go with me... but like on a date?" I couldn't believe it was happening! The Ponyboy Micheal Curtis was asking me, Grace Stephanie Watson out on a date! I was so happy that I get like if I was In a room alone, I would be jumping off the walls.

"Oh my gosh! Yes! I would love to go with you! I mean-sure." I was blushing a ton and I could feel it. I have never been more red in my life.
"Heh, ok great! Um I think breakfast is ready, we should go eat." Pony was almost as red as me.

When we walked into the kitchen Soda walked up to Pony and started whispering to him. When Ponyboy nodded excitedly I knew they were taking about if I said yes to the date. Sodapop gave Pony a high-five and when he saw that I was looking at them he grinned.
"So....Gracie I hear you said yes to going on a date with my brother." The whole room burst into hoops and hollers. Pony somehow managed to get even more red and he nudged Sodapop in the ribs with his elbow.
"Ow! Seriously kid you should have gone out for football instead of track." Sodapop murmured as he rubbed his rib.

I smiled at Ponyboy, as Darry started to put eggs on the small white plate that I was holding. I liked my eggs how Darry liked his, on a sandwich with tomatoes. I had always liked my eggs like this, I didn't really know why because other than that I hated tomatoes. Pony was the opposite, he couldn't stand anything on a sandwich. He would say the worst time in his life was when he was in the church up on Jay Mountain, because all there was to eat was baloney sandwiches. He also said the time in the church was the best time in his life because those were pretty much his last days with Johnny Cade. He talked about Johnny a lot, they were best friends. I couldn't imagine loosing my best friend. Her name was Kinsley, but she wasn't into gangs and stuff. She had thin, long, black hair that she usually kept down. Her eyes were a dark brown color. We had a fight about me joining the gang, but we were like sisters so I know that we would be back to being inseparable soon.

When Steve arrived for breakfast he started to tease Pony and I. I guess Sodapop already managed to tell him about the date.

"There is the blonde headed monkey and his wife! How is the newly wedded couple?" Steve always took things to the extreme.

"We are not married Steve! Also stop calling me a monkey!!" Pony snapped back.

I sat down at the table, "Thanks for cooking Darry! Your food always tastes amazing!" It was true, Darry made the best eggs anyone could find.

"Of course, you know I wish other people would appreciate my eggs just as much as you do." He exclaimed sarcastically.

It worked because everyone started saying how great his eggs are and how he deserved an award for them. I laughed a little bit and we all talked until breakfast was over.

It was the weekend meaning everyone had work, even Two-Bit. He got a job at bucks bar because his buddy Mike recommended him a job there. That meant it would just be Ponyboy and I all day, which I wasn't complaining about.

"Ok remember be careful of the Socs, don't do anything weird, and if you're going somewhere bring a blade." Darry told us as he grabbed his tool belt and keys. Every time pony and I were left alone we would get the same speech, and if someone asked me to I could probably recite it by heart. In fact, Darry told me one time that he didn't even need to tell us the speech anymore, because he trusted us so much. He just told it for good measure.

"We know Darry you don't have to worry." We both told him at the same time. We looked at each other and chuckled. I always loved Ponyboys laugh, it's just so welcoming and kind. Sometimes I wish I could listen to his voice on repeat. That's how much I loved it, he dosent know it though. We watched everyone leave, and then we were left in silence.
Ponyboy turned to me, "So.... What do you want to do?"

"I mean we could go to the park... or we could get milkshakes at Dairy Queen." I tried pitching ideas but there really wasn't much to do on a Saturday.
"Let's go to the Dairy Queen, I haven't had one of there shakes in so long." Ponyboy reached over to grab the money that was left on the kitchen counter.

We always took each others money if it was laying out and we needed it, that's why I always made sure not to leave my money lying out. Darry never took money, if fact his money was usually the one being taken. I have only taken money once, and it was from Two-Bit when he was going to buy more beer even though he was already way to drunk. We had all been kinda worried about Two because he was slowly starting to become more and more of a violent alcoholic after Johnny and Dallas passed away.
