Talulah - "Mr. Parker...I—I'm sorry..."
Maxwell - "What are you sorry for? None of this is your fault, this is because those guards left you alone, and your parents...That doesn't matter right now, all that matters is that I get you out of here."
Talulah and Maxwell were cut off from their conversation when some of the gang members started laughing and cheering about something, and Talulah felt tears welling up in her eyes again. Noticing the terrified look in Talulah's eyes, Maxwell bit back the urge to curse out their kidnappers, before looking around for anything that could set them free. A good few feet away from Maxwell was a sharp piece of stone, and he quickly turned around to see if anyone was watching. With the gang distracted by whatever they were laughing at, Maxwell started stretching his foot out to push the stone towards him. Meanwhile, in the castle, the royal family had decided to take a break after the argument with Maxwell. Michael put a comforting hand on his mother's shoulder when he saw the troubled expression she wore, but was struggling to hide the guilt he was feeling.
Michael - "It'll be okay, Mom. You know how Dad gets, he's just a little cranky sometimes."
Stephanie - "I know...I just wish we hadn't scheduled this camping trip so soon. I honestly didn't know we had all these meetings today."
Damian - "Talulah's a good kid, she'll understand."
Stephanie - "Well, I guess I should go check on your father. I'll see you all later, boys."
Jeremiah - "...Speaking of Talulah, shouldn't she and Maxwell be back by now?"
Michael - "It—It is getting late...Maybe we can send a message to the guards Talulah was sent with—"
Guard - "Your majesties, I'm sorry to disturb you, but I think you should know—"
Damian - "Wait a second, what are you two doing here? You were sent to protect Talulah in the forest until we could pick her up."
Guard - "A—About that, the princess had insisted that we should go and let her wait for all of you to join her at the campsite..."
Jeremiah - "...Let me get this straight. You left our sister, who's only ten, in the forest by herself?! Are you out of your minds?!"
Guard - "Your—Your highness, the princess had assured us—"
Damian - "Regardless of what Talulah had said, you two were supposed to stay by her side at all times! How could you possibly leave our sister in the middle of the woods by herself?!"
Michael - "She could've been attacked by some wild animal, like a bear or—or a wolf! Or something!"
Christopher - "What's going on in here? Why are you boys yelling?"
Jeremiah - "These so-called royal guards left Talulah at the campsite by herself! She's out there alone!"
Stephanie - "You did what?!"
Christopher - "How could you be so stupid as to abandon your princess in the middle of the forest?! What were you thinking?!"
The guards cowered on their knees as they stuttered out a million apologies, but the king and queen only had looks of fury in their eyes. Michael pulled his parents back before they could assault the guards, reminding them and his brothers that they had bigger things to worry about. Deciding he'd deal with their punishment once Talulah was safe, Christopher gave the guards a temporary sentence in the dungeons until Talulah was brought back to the castle. To everyone's surprise, Michael had left the room and returned with the late King Joseph's sword, holding it up in the air with a fierce glare.
