2:30 AM
Well, here I am... in my bed... awake... hopefully... The sheets were soaking wet, and I felt like I had just taken a shower, possible due to the excessive sweating while in my nightmare, even though it felt like less than 40 degrees... so maybe I was actually awake this time. However, the entire room was pitch black when I woke up, so I tried to find my phone to use as a flashlight again, and it was on top of the nightstand right next to my bed. When I turned it on, I checked to see if I accidentally woke up anyone else, but fortunately, nobody was. Of course, I had to check to see if they were alive and... they were! So that means I'm probably not in a nightmare. However, I refused to go back to sleep, for I didn't feel safe at all, so I decided to explore the house for any dangers. I'm getting severe deja vu from this...
I went to check around the house for any suspicions, and found Dad's phone out in the open on the kitchen counter... on. It turns out he just got a text message from Jenny, the cabin manager from earlier. Apparently she was informing Dad that the entrances to the cabin were... blocked up by snow?!... I quickly ran to all of the entrances of the cabin to see if it was true, and sure enough, all entrances were blocked off by snow. I did some more inspecting and discovered that... the entire cabin was blocked up by snow! Uh oh...
"Hey, guys, wake up!" They all moaned as they started to wake up while sleeping. "Can yall come see outside real quick? It's important!"
"Brother, it's 4 AM. What's so important that you have to show us?" Marleigh said.
"Yeah, bro. I was having an amazing dream about your sister." John seconded. Marleigh and Brandon gave him the death stare after he said that.
"There is snow all around the cabin and it's blocking off all the cabin entrances. Please, come take a look!"
And so they reluctantly got up and put their puffy coats on (With the cold air inside, it felt like the cabin was snowing) getting up for the day. They all came to the main entrance of the building with me to see what I was talking about, and when they saw it completely covered up by snow, they were in total awe, wondering how this could've happened. Marleigh recalls that she checked the weather last night on her phone, and that it said a blizzard was supposed to come through us while we were sleeping. Although the blizzard eventually went away, snow was still mountaining on top of all buildings it passed, including this cabin. None of us opened the door, as all the snow would come flying in if we did.
So it officially looks like we're stuck here. Or at least until someone decides to do something about it. Hopefully we won't be stuck here for long; I reserved this cabin for a week (we check out on December 26, 11 AM, right after Christmas) so this could end badly if we end up stranded here for too long
We then went to Dad's private room to see if he was there, and he wasn't. We all tried to find him in any spot we could find throughout the cabin, but he was nowhere to be found. Perhaps he has gotten caught in the blizzard...
I tried to call the police to figure out what happened. The cabin, I mean. Unfortunately, I had no signal. Even though the TV worked earlier, the signal completely vanished. The lights also did not turn on, nor did any of the cooking equipment work, except the stove, which ran on gas. I had no clue why the signal would disappear suddenly, but the only two possible solutions I could think of were either Jenny turned the power off to save money and charges, or the snowstorm disabled some wires affecting the signal. Either way, we are completely helpless.
As a last resort, I tried to text Jenny via Dad's phone to see if anyone would come to resolve this issue (or at least somehow make a path for us to exit the cabin out of) but I forgot that the Internet was required to send messages to others, so when I tried to text Jenny, it failed to send.
This felt just like the nightmare I had. At least nobody can try to harm us with all of the entrances blocked off by snow, or at least I hope not... The only major threats are the food running out if we stay here long enough, if we get frostbite (the heater didn't work due to electricity not working) or if the snow above us creates so much pressure on the cabin that the former crashes this whole cabin down and kills us all. Hopefully that never happens and we can get out of this cabin within a week...
It's 5 AM right now, and I still don't know what to do. I was quite hungry, though, so I asked everyone else if they were hungry as well, and they were, so I decided to see what there was to eat. I counted the food in the refrigerator (it was probably about 1.5 times the size of your average fridge) and food took up 2/3 of the space in there. I was actually quite relieved to see so many food in the fridge, but because there's 9 of us for the next 6 days, possibly, things could get out of hand with food pretty quick. But, I cooked everyone pancakes as an early breakfast, so that's that.
After breakfast, I quickly brushed my teeth, changed into some warm clothes, and do what I usually do in the morning, when I should be taking action... not that I know what I'm supposed to be doing in these types of situations.
The time is now 6 AM, and it's still very cold and dark in the cabin, even though the sun usually starts to shine right about now, so I sensed that the width of the snow around us is pretty thick, so it looks like we won't be getting out of here anytime soon unless something miraculous happens. It was around this time that I went into my room and just had some quiet time with God, thinking that this was punishment for the secret hatred I had for Dad. Now he's missing and there's no evidence as to where he is right now...
My senses were correct; about a couple of hours later, absolutely no sunlight had shined through the snow and into the cabin, which meant the snow around us was really thick... and maybe also bulky.
Out of the blue, I had a sudden motivation that Dad absolutely had to be around here somewhere, so I rallied the others to grab any light sources around the house, including their phones, and look all around for areas we may have missed looking for Dad, even secret areas, if any, to see if he truly was gone, so they did. After almost 10 minutes of almost borderline unnecessary and extensive searching, all of us were about to give up, until suddenly, Stella found a hidden attic in our sleeping room, latched on the roof of the closet. Now, I was wondering how I missed that part of the cabin while changing and hiding in the closet while in my nightmare. Perhaps it was just too dark to see at the time, and I wasn't particularly thinking that an exit would be in my closet, anyway.
"Hey, guys, come see!" Stella shouted optimistically. "I think I found something!" And so we all came over to see the attic door on top of the closet.
"What do you think is inside?" Phillip asked.
"I have no clue." Andrew replied.
"Me, neither..." I seconded in a hesitant way.
"Should we go see what's inside?" Stella questioned.
"We definitely should. I think Dad might be up there and we don't know it." Marleigh answered.
"I guess we're going in, then..." Brandon said, scared yet excited to see what was in the attic, or at least I assumed it was an attic...
