Darkness Comes and Goes

I stuttered. She sounded truly hurt, but I had to remind myself that it could all be a ploy.

"I hope this is another surprise you're planning, because if not, I'm not smiling."

"Charge!" John suddenly screamed. He grabbed the hammer in his hand and started to repeatedly beat Mom over the head with it. All the others instinctively followed, including me.

My dad was looking at us with his mouth wide open in shock and confusion while we were beating her, screaming at us, especially wondering what we were doing.

Mon began to scream in pain from the beatings. We managed to form several dents in her head, as well as a few small openings. She started to gush out blood from her head after a few seconds, though I noticed it was oddly... black. It looked akin to ink you would use for feather pens. Her screaming also became more and more distorted. Eventually, she swung all of our weapons out of our hands and started growling at us. Her eyes, which were once so beautiful, turned full-on green with yellow pupils.

All of us obviously started running from her, and Bill just hid under his bed, whimpering slightly (which I'm assuming is what he would do with his wife especially).

I hid in the structure we used to block ourselves from the cameras and the wolves from earlier, although it took a while, because it was broken down, so I had to quickly rebuild it. It was quite difficult to do, actually, because everyone was causing so much chaos around the cabin!

After about half a minute, it hit me: the cameras! We could use the lasers to take down the fake mom just like we did the wolves.

When there wasn't a lot of noise around my area, I sought the opportunity to sneak out. Only when I tried to, John came in, with a panicked expression on his face.

"We're doomed." John said, oit of breath.

"What? Why do you say that?" I asked, slightly nervous.

"So, you know the cameras with the lasers installed in them?"

"Yes..."

"I went to run them back up again and set up a base for us to hide in. But when I got to the computer to activate the cameras, I found your mommy-monstrosity smash your dad's computer in anger."

"No way!"

"Yes, way..."

"I had the exact same plan you had... guess we can't execute it now..."

"Nope..."

"We have to think of something else. And don't call my mom that, even though the one we're dealing with right now isn't actually who she is..."

"You're right, you're right... I just don't know what to do... Meanwhile, the others are struggling to defend themselves against her. Mason's hiding in the sleeping room somewhere."

Just as I was about to respond to John, we were found. Our first instinct was to run. Both of us saw our hideout move and we ran as fast as we could. We headed towards the sleeping room, in attempts to hide wherever Mason was.
