Well, we just settled ourselves into the cabin, and I got to say, it's probably the most awesome winter cabin in Maryland! Everyone else was also very excited to stay here, and I even saw quite a happy face on Dad... should I be worried?
Roughly 12 minutes later
Okay, so, I should be worried... Dad just called me to have a talk with him...
I'm so dead. Dad never asks me to talk with him unless something bad happens, especially when it has something to do with me. I slowly walked behind him, feeling frozen but moving anyway. A breeze of unease went by me as I sat on the bed with my Dad in one of the inner rooms. I almost peed a little...
"Hey..." I said to my dad hesitantly. Fear was showing.
"Hey..." Dad replied, mocking me. "We need to talk."
"About what?" I tried playing dumb. Usually never works, though.
"You know how much I despise your girlfriend, Stella. Why did you bring her on this trip anyway, knowing full well about my feelings?"
"Mostly because I stopped caring about what you think about my relationship with Stella. I've been very content with her as my girlfriend, and I just think you should accept our relationship more." I made sure I said this defiantly while maintaining my respect towards my dad.
My dad paused briefly, then said quietly, "As you wish..." but he continued, "...I won't make your life easy, though, as long as the both of you are together..."
Well, that was a threat. A big one, too. I mean, how exactly would he make my life harder, or harder than it already is...?
"I can't believe you're doing this to me, and to everyone, Dad..."
"Believe it. With the way she's treated me ever since you've introduced me to her, all I would even pray for was for her to get out of my life, your life, and the lives of all we both know combined. Stella is bad news, son. As your dad, who is loving and protecting, I simply cannot let her in our presence. So, until y'all split up, in any way, you will get the same treatment as Stella. I'm sorry, Mason."
I couldn't believe he just said those words to me, his own son! Now, I want to cling on to Stella even more, to show Dad that he treated us gratuitously, and he will regret what he did to us...
Now, you might be asking, "Why can't he just break the two of you up?" and that's mostly because my dad is a "free action, followed consequence" kind of guy. That means that he lets us make our own actions without his intervention but makes sure that we receive the proper consequences for our actions.
I came in the main bedroom to tell the guys what my dad said to me, and they were in shock and disbelief. Brandon told me to just let him do as he wishes and try not to interfere much. I just agreed. Butting in seems to make things worse, after all...
At this point, I wanted to forget that conversation ever happened, so I plopped myself in the living room and started to contemplate where this all began. It probably started off with how Stella dressed at the family dinner that one time... but was it really necessary to wear a tux to dinner, Dad? Ugh...
My girlfriend suddenly came to visit me, and wanted to know if we could watch a movie together. She sensed that I was tense... which I was. So, we decided to watch a movie together. She requested that she choose the movie, and I let her. She chose an oddly romantic movie. I could tell where this was going... I told her that movie was alright with me.
