I jolted a few inches forward, looked behind me, and found another wolf. It sat down with modesty and looked at me with the most eager eyes possible. I just ignored him, though, because I knew they were just going to gain my trust, and later betray me. I was pretty gullible after the first 5 anomalies, but 6 is where I end the streak.
I tried to walk away, ignoring any potential threats, but then 2 more wolves started to approach me, after which I started to accelerate towards the living room with the others. Unfortunately, it was a trap, and the wolves started to guard the living room, and a few new ones tagged along. It wasn't until then that the others were beginning to get scared, though it may have been too late at this point to take action. If any action could've been taken, that is...
Then the one we saw first approached Brandon slowly, and Brandon started to back up at the same speed in fear, not knowing what would happen next. Suddenly, the wolf pounced onto Brandon, barking and biting Brandon fiercely. The other wolves guarding the living room followed its path, beginning to attack the rest of us, too. Oddly enough, none of them was heading towards my dad's room, although that may have been because they didn't detect his presence.
It's truly interesting how a living room with a bunch of people outnumbered by wolves can turn into a replication of a one-sided fighting arena within a timespan of 4 seconds. In the blink of an eye, we ran around screaming for defense, the wolves were attacking us, and we couldn't wake Bill up to help us out because his bedroom door was locked. Even if we could try to close the doors behind us, the wolves would always get in.
So it looked like we had one decision left: fight them off. Unfortunately, that's easier said than done. The wolves were pretty strong, and I could barely move the wolves off of me no more than 7 inches. Even Brandon and Andrew are struggling, but at least they were making more progress. Meanwhile, the wolves seemed to get more aggressive the more we tried to fight them off.
I couldn't notice at the moment due to me frantically finding a place to hide, but I noticed traces of blood from all of us were bleeding out of our arms and chins, including me.
I screamed to everyone to find something to beat the wolves to death with. The girls revoltingly opposed this idea, but the guys were all for it, so each of us ran towards anything to try to at least nullify them with. When we came back, all we could find was a shovel and a rake. Fortunately, they looked brand new, so they could probably do some significant damage.
Only... they didn't. The wolves dodged almost all of our attacks, and there were barely any bruise marks on them.
Suddenly, an idea sparked inside of me, and I told everyone what I had in mind.
"You're joking, right?" Brandon asked.
"That's the craziest idea I've ever heard!" Marleigh stated.
"Do I even need to explain to you why that is a terrible idea?" Stella seconded.
"Remember what happened to Phillip?" Andrew asked.
"No, I do. I'm just saying it won't necessarily be us getting ambushed, but the wolves, instead." I suggested. "Hear me out: we can build some sort of shelter that the wolves can't get into, but we can, and one that the cameras can't see us through. But the cameras will see the wolves, fire lasers at them to death, and we will be safe."
"But how are we going to access the computer in Mr. Yemmingham's room? It's locked!" Zachary argued.
"Simple. Andrew can go knock. He has the loudest knock out of all of us."
"Why do I have to do everything?!" Andrew exclaimed.
"Why did you start that hardcore workout routine?" I asked with sass.
"Fine... I'll go."
"We'll distract the wolves for you." Marleigh assured.
"Okay, thanks y'all." And he took off running. Fortunately, only one or two baby wolves caught up to him, and he was barely affected, He started to pound hard on the door.
Bill opened the door, thinking someone was in danger. Well, he was right... 8 were.
"Why are you banging on my door? I was trying to sleep."
"Thanks, Mr. Yemmingham!" Stella exclaimed as she burst into the room. Before Bill could even react, wolves jumped him. Stella got on the bed and took his computer. Fortunately, the bed was high enough to where the wolves can't simply jump and climb onto the bed.
Meanwhile, Bill was wide awake from the sudden increase in adrenaline from being attacked, so we took the opportunity to explain to him our plan.
"I don't care what y'all do! Just end this madness!" Bill yelled.
So we did. It only took a few minutes, too. We rearranged the furniture to make ourselves a corner space in the living room. It was big enough to fit all of us, keep the wolves out, and remain out of the laser's sight. Stella ran back as fast as she could and got in with a few scratches. The wolves kept trying to get in our corner space, and even resorted to clawing. But, unfortunately for them (and fortunately to us) the lasers killed off all of them in less than a minute.
Once we couldn't hear any howling, scratching, or lasers firing anymore, we got out of our hiding spot. But we forgot the lasers were still scanning for individuals, because before long, Stella found herself dodging her way to Bill's room to disable the cameras. The rest of us stayed back in our hiding spot. Once she did, we got out.
Some of us were bleeding from the wolves, and everybody but Stella had dirt and dust all over them, so we decided to clean ourselves off. Only... we couldn't. Power was required to take showers and baths. The only thing we had were the pack of band-aids I packed in my suitcase (the "big ones") but those can only do so much.
The time was now 10 AM. I went back into the sleeping room to put a few band-aids on myself, when Stella walked in the room and said, "Mason, meet me in Mr. Yemmingham's room. In private." I started to bite my lips for a few seconds, but I got up and went with Stella.
