The Summer I Turned Pretty
THE TWINS BURSTED out the door of the house with excitement buzzing around them, their faces lighting up at the sight of Cameron's blue car.
"Hi." Belly greeted with a nervous smile as she slightly leaned down to look at the curly haired boy through the opened window before then opening the door and letting herself in.
"Hi, you look- less wistful." Cameron pointed out, giving Belly a nervous smile back.
"I, uh, feel less wistful." Belly let out a laugh as she buckled herself.
Lemon cleared her throat.
Belly glanced back, "Oh, Cam, this is my twin, Lemon. I realized I never actually introduced either of you to one another properly." She jabbed her thumb backwards to point at her sister.
"Sup, Cam Cameron." Lemon nodded at the boy, giving a smile as she heard a sigh leave her sister's mouth.
"Lemon." Belly scolded.
"No, no, it's okay." Cameron brushed past the obvious teasing towards him, "I kind of reeled myself into the whole Cam Cameron thing. It's nice to properly meet you, Lemon."
Lemon then turned her head towards Atlas, "Should I give you an introduction?"
"Uh, nah-" Atlas began.
"Well, I want to." Lemon smiled as she then turned back to look at Belly, leaving Atlas to give her a dumbfounded look before an amused smile soon graced his perfect sculptured face, he shouldn't have expected any less from Lemon Conklin.
"Belly, this is Atlas, or Jonesy. Atlas, Belly." Lemon introduced, "Yay, we're all acquainted!"
Everyone smiled as the awkward atmosphere in the car finally melted away.
"So, what movie are we watching?" Belly asked, looking at Cameron.
"Uh, it's some old movie called, uh, Sabrina?" Cameron responded, nodding.
Lemon let out an excited gasp as she leaned forward, "Oh my god. Sabrina as in like Audrey Hepburn? Two Brothers? That Sabrina?"
Cameron looked at Belly before then looking back at Lemon, "Uh, yeah. I think so. I mean, Atlas is the one who told me what was going to be showing tonight."
"Huh." Lemon said, "That's funny, they don't usually play old Hollywood movies here and I'm guessing that's the reason why you never told me what we were watching."
"Very strange." Atlas nodded mockingly, sending Lemon a teasing smile.
"How did you do it." Lemon squinted her eyes at the boy.
The blonde boy could only shrug, "Everyone knows my mom and when everyone knows my mom, they know me, so I just asked for them to change the movie to Sabrina."
"Yup." Lemon nodded as she stared blankly at Atlas, "I hit the jackpot."
"Oh my god!" Belly laughed alongside Cameron as Alas smiled at the girl fondly, snickering to himself as he watched the girl continue to stare at him in a daze.
