i adjust my graduation cap, before i walk downstairs.
"you're so grown up!" my dad gushes. i roll my eyes, jokingly when he kisses my cheek.
we walk out to the car to drive over to school. i had already written my valedictorian speech, the progress was way prolonged but whatever.
we arrive at the field where everyone was. i see brady, immediately running up to him. he catches me by my waist, spinning me around.
"i can't believe we're graduating together!" i gush.
"are you implying that you thought i'd get held back?" sassy man apocalypse.
"yes."
we laugh as he slings his arm around my shoulders. connor walks over to us with julia and we take some photos before the ceremony starts.
madi runs up to my hugging my legs.
i gasp,"mads!!"
i hug her tightly.
"i want to see you on stage," she beams.
"i'll look for you," i smile at her.
"now for a speech by our valedictorian, lorelai spier!"
my eyes widen. i kiss my dad's cheek before i run over to the stage.

i clear my throat, standing behind the podium.
"hello class of 24' it had been a great 4 years with everyone. i'm going to keep this short. when we think of our time here, we think of the friendships we have. maybe it wasn't always a smooth ride but how could you expect it to. conflict and resolution is what leads to a strong relationship. i learned that. with that, keep trying to make things work even when you think there is no way it could happen. because if i didn't. i wouldn't be with my boyfriend today. thank you for your time. happy graduation!" i look at brady smiling.
he gets on stage, walking over to me. he places a hand on my waist, swiftly dipping me as we kissed. the crowd erupts in cheers and whistles. he sets me back on my feet, still keeping me close. i smile, at his dramatic gesture.
we walk of stage with our hands intertwined.

he shakes the principals hand, turning to the camera slightly freezing for the photo. he accepts the diploma, bowing slightly before walking off stage. connor followed after, doing the same.
