i don't know why, but recently brady has been colder and meaner to me. i thought we were making progress but i guess he's still the same annoying, cocky boy he's been since elementary school. i couldn't stand it. he thought he was always the best at everything. i was so glad to stop being friends with him.

i was currently at his house after dropping madi off at ballet class, per normal. i sit in the kitchen of the empty house, using the peace and quiet to get some work done. unfortunately that peace was ruined when the noon boy, barges into the house.

he ignores my existence as he walks past me to the fridge. i focus my attention on my paper infront of me but get distracted when he takes a seat at the dining table. he chews loudly on what, from where i was seated, looked like strawberry pie? i shifted my seat slightly further due to the sickening sweet smell of the strawberries. i was severely allergic to strawberries even the scent of them made me feel sick.

i start to feel my throat close up, the more i breathed in the scent of the pie. it wasn't so bad to the point of an actual allergic reaction but it was still uncomfortable.

"are you allergic or something?" brady asks when i let a cough slip.

"im allergic to boys who ask stupid questions," i deadpan, shutting my book, taking it with me as i moved to the leaving room.

----

as i sat on the living room couch, finishing my novel, brady walks in and plops down next to me on the couch, turning on the tv.

i shut my eyes, inhaling a deep breath as i tried to block out the sounds from the tv so i could focus on reading. brady turns up the volume. oh hell no.

"do you mind?" i ask him, though it wasn't a question.

"it's a living room, this is where you're supposed to watch tv," he says. "the kitchen's free though."

you've got to be joking. i swear i felt my eye twitch when he said that. i shrug it off, heading to madi's unoccupied room, deciding i'd stay there until she came back.

----

i finished my book, feeling satisfied that i actually completed it without any interruptions. madi came home and was washing up while i waited downstairs, heating up the leftovers, mrs noon had asked me to heat up for dinner.

at this point i spend more time at their house than my own.

i place the food on a platter, placing it in the centre of the dining table.
