It didn't take long for them to arrive at their old town. When arriving at the inn, Shun didn't waste a second before going into his room and locking himself in there. He's not gonna explore a city to just go home depressed afterward.

He's not ready to face this just yet.

Unlike him, Aqua went to explore the familiar city together with Akane. The boy visited the hospital where many memories of Sarina played inside his head. But not only did he remember her but also his husband.

In the past, he often came there to bring him something he forgot or just to spend their lunch breaks together. It also didn't take long for him to find out that he was replaced, but Aqua wasn't surprised only a little disappointed.

Anyhow, Aqua didn't stay long, the thoughts and memories this place gave him made his head hurt. He also visited other small places, like the house of his husband's parents. He saw the house from a safe distance and unfortunately didn't see anyone he recognized.

And now he's going to the most important place. His home. Their home. The place where almost everything happened, the place that'll shatter him to pieces.

'This is the last one.' Aqua says when the two were finally standing in front of the familiar building somewhere hidden in the mountain. He reaches out to grab a key under a plant pot; surprisingly, it's still there.

'What is this place?' Akane asks.

'It's an acquaintance's house.' he replies while fidgeting with the key in his hand. 'Well, I said that, but really, all of the habitants have passed, so nobody really lives here anymore.'

Akane nods and smiles softly, looking at the sign by the door that reads Amamiya. 'They must've been important to you, huh? What kind of person were they?'

Aqua's eyes drop down as he puts the key in the keyhole. 'Goro Amamiya...' he mutters when entering. The first thing he sees is a picture of him with an older woman. Next to the woman is another male with a big and warm smile. Aqua stares at it longer than he should. '...never had a mother. Obstetric hemorrhage.'

His eyes move again as Akane starts to walk inside, exploring the place. 'His mother hid the fact that she was pregnant from her parents, so she gave birth on her own at home, but she bled too much.'

'By the time the ambulance arrived, she had already...' his eyes avert to the kitchen where another framed photo is. It's a wedding picture, his wedding picture. His husband had an arm wrapped around him by his waist and the same big smile he always wore on his face.

'He didn't know anything about his father, so he was entrusted to his grandparents.' he continues, quickly moving away from the picture. 'For the most part, he felt awkward. His relationship with his grandmother wasn't bad. But with his grandfather, it was a little...'

His fingers start to run along the dusty counters, his mind playing the countless memories in this place and the countless disgusting food he had to eat. It was worth it, though; the smile on his husband's face was everything. 'But even in darkness, there is light. He met the love of his life early and stayed with him throughout most of his life.'

'However, in the end, he couldn't stop feeling guilty...for being born at the expense of his mother. Even when he decided to go to medical school.'

Flashback

'You're going to be an obstetrician!' his grandmother exclaims with happy tears in her eyes. Gorou doesn't look as happy as she is though.

Next to him is his boyfriend, holding his hand and squeezing it, hoping to comfort him even if it's just a little.
