Chapter Twenty-Four

It's been a while since everything happened. Kana's Idol group has been doing good. At least it looks like it on the screens and from your place in the audience. 

But behind closed doors, it was a nightmare. Ruby has not been herself for some reason, and Kana has been suffering a lot because of Akane's relationship with Aqua.

Besides that, it seems like Shun's life was almost back to normal. Keyword: Almost. His husband's recent death discovery followed him everywhere. So much he had to take a break from his job. He canceled every movie he had planned and did exactly nothing.

He did go to Kana's every show, and somehow, he always hoped to bump into Aqua. But since their, you know what I mean, Aqua hasn't come to any concert. And when Shun is in their studio, he doesn't come out of his room.

Does it bother him? Yes. 

Does he understand it? Erm...yes?

His whatever with Aqua is complicated. What attracted him to Aqua at first was that familiarity, and the same goes for Aqua, probably. Who did he remind him of, anyway? Some past lover?

Aqua wants to move on from his past, and that's okay. Shun realized that he was completely right. He can't keep clinging on to something hurtful from the past. So he understands Aqua's reasons. It is the best for both of them.

Could he have done it differently? Yes. Could they both have avoided this by simply not using each other? Yes.

But it doesn't matter anyway. It's over. 

Shun grip on his phone tightens. Why does it bother him so much then if it's over?! The male sighs as he places his head against the window of the moving car. He and the girls are riding back after another concert.

Kana is by his side, head on his shoulder, Mem-cho next to Kana. She stares at the two siblings with a frown and shakes her head. What the heck is Aqua doing?

The girl leans forward to talk to Ruby's guardian. 'Huh? Aqu-tan wasn't here today?'

'He's filming today.' the woman answers.

Shun looks from the corner of his eyes at Kana, who tenses up when hearing the boy's name. She presses her lips together tightly before gently grabbing her brother's hand in hers. 'I wanna get out.' She mutters, causing Shun's eyes to soften.

'Miss Miyako.' Shun exclaims, shutting her conversation with Mem-cho off. 'Me and Kana have something to take care of. Can you drop us off at Ebisu?'

The woman does so, and both siblings step out of the minivan into the streets. Shun waves as the car takes off before following after Kana. The red-headed girl sits down on a staircase, leading to a large building nearby with a blank look on her face.

Shun sits down next to her with a sigh and stays silent for the first couple of seconds. 'So, you're gonna tell me what's wrong? Or nah?'

Kana stays silent.

'You know, I also like Aqua.' he whispers, making the girl's eyes widen. 'Have you noticed?' The male asks and chuckles right after before throwing his head back and leaning his elbows against the hard surface of the stairs. 'Judging by your expression, I'd say you haven't.'

Kana's expression softens. 'You like boys? Why didn't you tell me?' she asks slightly hurt.

'I'd say I was afraid. But I actually never found the right time to do it.' he says with a shrug.

'What made you tell me now? She asks curiously.

Shun sighs deeply as his eyes meet his sister's. 'Because I want you to know that you're not alone. I am here, in the same spot, somehow. I'm also annoyed and frustrated.'
