Chapter Twenty-Three

'That's...' mem-cho mumbles surprised, her eyes wide. It's been a day since the trip ended, and suddenly, the weight of Aqua's absence hit him like a brick.

He needs to talk to someone, not about gorou of course, although he wished he could. And since Mem-cho is kinda his only friend and she knows about aqua, she is the perfect choice to do it.

Shun looks down at the table as he fidgets with his fingers. He called her over to a cafe, and basically spilled everything out, every single detail, literally.

Mem-cho's surprised expression changes into one of anger. 'That's bullshit!' she blurts out irritated, making Shun look up with a nervous expression.

He quickly shakes his head as he waves his hands around. 'Mem, I don't want you to dislike Aqua or Akane, okay? I just needed to get this out of my chest. I don't want to bad talk them.' he explains with a frown. Akane hasn't done anything...and aqua? Well, aqua can't choose who he likes.

Mem-cho frowns too, and sighs before taking a sip of her coffee. 'Don't worry, I don't... I just... think that what he said is bullshit.' she says with a small pout as she crosses her arms after putting her drink down.

She leans back on her chair and closes her eyes. 'I see the way he looks at you, it definitely wasn't fake or something.'

Shun shrugs, he doesn't know what to say to that. 'And I think it would be weird if Akane actually were to accept to be his girlfriend for real.' mem-cho continues as she opens her eyes, locking them into his. 'She knows how you feel and...he also...-'

'You keep saying he feels this and that, but he told me otherwise.' Shun cuts her off as he rubs the back of his neck, trying to stop himself from feeling even more troubled by this.

And her words weren't exactly helping. 'It's his choice, there's nothing we can do about this. Nothing I can do about this.'

Mem-cho presses her lips together and she reaches to grab his hand from the other side of the table. 'I'm sorry, shu.' she whispers, and Shun gives her a little smile. 'I'm here for you.' she retreats her hand and nods slowly. 'I know there's something else bothering you, and I know you don't want to tell me; just know that I'm here, okay?'

Shun's smile widens slightly and he nods. 'Thank you, mem. You're my Best Friend...'

Mem-cho chuckles. 'Don't let Kana hear that.'

Flashback

'Who should wear white?' the boy asks as he grabs a piece of chocolate from the bowl on the coffee table. His fiance, who's sitting next to him, shrugs. 'I feel like I should be the one wearing black, I don't know.'

Gorou sighs as he pushes his glasses further up his nose. 'Why does that matter? Let's just be ourselves and have fun, okay?' he says as he slumps his body down against his fiance's tiredly. The male rolls his eyes. 'I still can't believe you asked me to marry you in Mac Donald's.'

The other nudges him as he pouts. 'Listen, that wasn't the plan okay? But I'm still glad I did it before you did.' he says with a small chuckle as he finishes up his chocolate. Gorou looks down with a sigh which makes the other nudge him again. 'Having second thoughts?'

Gorou is quick to shake his head as the other wraps his arm around the boy's waist, telling him to go on. 'I don't know, isn't it just a bit too early? Don't get me wrong I'm happy you asked me, super happy actually but we just finished school...-'

His fiance whines loudly while rubbing his cheek against his. 'There you go, worrying about everything like the nerd you are...' Gorou deadpans before grabbing the same's cheeks and he starts pinching them, making him cry out with discomfort. 'Owh, Owh, I'm sorry gouuu!'

Gorou lets him go and the other starts to rub his aching cheeks. The male then sighs before placing his head against the others. 'We can call it off, I don't mind.' he says with a tiny smile. 'All I want is for you to be comfortable and happy.' he whispers lovingly making Gorou smile. 'I love you so much.'

The black-haired male with glasses grabs his fiance's hand before squeezing it. 'I don't want to call it off.,' he whispers back, making his fiance's face heat up for some reason. 'I want to marry you.'

His fiance chuckles with excitement after the feeling of shyness goes away. 'I'm glad, gou.' he states as he starts to shake the boy furiously. 'We're gonna get married! So awesome!' Gorou chuckles and puts a hand on the boy's leg to stop him from shaking the both of them. His fiance does so with a wide and bright grin. 'Okay, Okay. I, your babe, the love of your life, promise to stay with you during sickness--'

Gorou puts a finger by his lips, shutting him up. 'You're supposed to say that during the wedding, not now.' he states knowingly.

'I wanna practice.'

Gorou shakes his head. 'That's gonna bring bad luck.'

The other pouts. 'But...' he begins before his eyes widen slightly, a look that gorou knows all too well taking over his beautiful features. 'Okay, then, how about we practice something else, hm?' he proposes as he moves to straddle the boy with a smirk.

Gorou deadpans before he tries to push the boy off. 'No, I'm tired.'

'Come onnn! I'll let you choose tonight, we won't even have to play rock paper scissors to decide who's gonna be it, what do you think?' he proposes as he puts his hands underneath the boy's shirt, running them along his waist. 'It'll be fun.'

'We shouldn't have sex before our marriage now that we're engaged.' Gorou states but doesn't make a move to stop the boy's movements.

The other shrugs. 'I don't care.'

Gorou shakes his head before raising a hand and putting it on his fiance's cheek pulling his face down for a kiss.

'Okay, but I call the shots.'
