(1980...)
Young John Kreese, Terry Silver, Paul Dugan, Ponytail and Scovil were leaving the Kim Sun-Yung dojo, going back to America. But John Kreese stopped and remembered that he forgot to say goodbye to one person. John Kreese dropped his bag to the floor and headed back toward the dojo. “Johnny, come on. Where are you going?” Terry Silver asked. “Just gotta say one more goodbye.” John Kreese answered. “But the car’s already here.” Paul Dugan said, pointing his thumb behind him, at the limo.
“Don’t worry. I know where she is.” John Kreese said, before walking away. The other four students drop their bags and follow behind him. They make it back to the outside part of the dojo and see Master Kim Sun-Yung still teaching his younger students. John Kreese looks off to the side and sees young Kim Da-Eun, hiding behind a large vase, watching the dojo training. She sees John Kreese and the two of them wave to each other.
Suddenly, Kim Sun-Yung catches Kim Da-Eun and orders his students to stop training, then commands his granddaughter to come over to him. When she did, he glared down at her. “내가 말했잖아. 당신은 여기에 있을 수 없습니다. 이것은 학생들만을 위한 것입니다 (I told you. You cannot be here. This is for students only)!” Kim Sun-Yung said, before striking his granddaughter's arm with a stick of bamboo, making her yelp in pain. Finally, John Kreese had enough of the abuse, and stepped in, even when his friends tried to stop him.
“That’s enough!” He yelled, seriously. Kim Sun-Yung turns his attention toward John Kreese with a glare. “Respectfully, Master Kim, you should be training her, not punishing her for wanting to learn.” John Kreese said, stepping up to his Tang Soo Do teacher. “You are sensei here? No? You go back to America and be sensei. Here, you are student. Not very good student if you ask for mercy.” Kim Sun-Yung said, in English. “I know the lesson. And when the circumstances called for it, I didn’t show mercy.” John Kreese said, seriously. “Circumstance?” Kim Sun-Yung laughed. Now Terry Silver, Paul Dugan, Ponytail and Scovil were getting nervous.
“Lesson for whole life. I will teach you again. And this time, you will never forget.” Kim Sun-Yung said, turning back around. “What do you mean?” John Kreese asked, nervously. Suddenly, the evil master spins around and high wheel kicks John Kreese in the face, sending him to the floor, roughly. Terry Silver came rushing in and tries to repeatedly punch his master but failed when he blocked his attacks, and Kim Sun-Yung punches the center of his chest, hurting his ribs and launching him a few feet away. Paul Dugan tried to sweep his legs but Kim Sun-Yung kicked his face, mid sweep. Ponytail and Scovil tagged teamed their master, throwing their own attacks but the Tang Soo Do master blocked them all, jumped up and did a split kick, knocking them both down.
Kim Sun-Yung walks over to John Kreese and lifts his right foot up to finish him off. Before he could, Kim Da-Eun kicked the back of his left leg. It didn’t hurt him though but it sure pissed him off. Kim Sun-Yung picks his granddaughter up by the neck and lifts her up. “당신은 당신의 할아버지를 공격합니까 (You attack your own grandfather)?” He asked, with venom in his voice. Kim Da-Eun whimpered in fear. “너 무섭 니 (Are you afraid)?” He asked, looking her in the eye. Kim Da-Eun shook her head in response. “오 예? 그러면 드디어 준비가 된 것입니다. 당신은 더 이상 숨지 않고 내일부터 훈련을 시작할 것입니다 (Oh yeah? Then you're finally ready. You will stop hiding and begin training tomorrow).” Kim Sun-Yung said, putting his granddaughter down. John Kreese and Kim Da-Eun share a smile before the five veterans leave the dojo and head back to America.
