Stella gasped for the hundredth time. She's been doing that while watching him doing his job. Although she knew it wasn't that high and if he ever fell down he won't die, she still flinched every time he dangled himself out of one of the windows. Did he have to be this careless? And why was he even doing that? Haewon, her previous guard, never dangled from windows while trying to protect Stella.
Changbin jumped back into the room and dusted off his hands. He pulled his phone out and snapped a couple of photos for the window. Stella watched him with careful eyes. He's been scanning the whole house for almost an hour now. He went through every single room and corner. He checked the garden, the front yard, the garage, and the roof. Changbin scanned every window and door. He checked the security system of the house and the security cameras, took notes and snapped photos here and there. He looked super focused that he didn't notice how Stella and Bitna were looking at him.
Bitna started to look at him with admiring eyes. He was a young fine man who seemed to be taking his job seriously from the first day. He was there for protection and that is exactly what he was doing.
Stella was looking at him with admiring eyes. He looked so professional and she liked professional people. Although the grey sweatpants, the black tee, and the curly ruffled hair didn't look so professional, he still looked strict. His visual struck her for the third time that day. In only one day, he was a hulk, a man in a suit, and now a man in comfy homewear that did nothing to hide his buffness and the very well-built muscles.
Changbin lifted his head to look around. This room was the last and it was Stella's bedroom. It was a simple one with only a white queen-sized bed, a vanity table, a coffee table with two armchairs by the window, and a simple small closet. All the furniture, the bed sheets, and even the walls were in shades of white and pistachio, which was very calming. Changbin's eyes fell on the door of the ensuite bathroom.
"Can I?" He pointed at it, earning a nod from Stella.
He walked to the door, opened it, switched on the lights, and walked in. Her bathroom was luxurious compared to the one he used to shower downstairs. Still keeping the color theme, the bathroom sparkled from how it was strongly lit. There was a clear glass shower stall, a freaking large bathtub with a jacuzzi, a huge sink, an extremely large mirror facing another vanity table, and at the very far corner, there was the toilet seat below a window.
Changbin blinked a couple of times before shaking his head and walking up to the other wall where the window was. He opened that window and looked outside and exactly as he did with other windows, he climbed it up and examined it from the outside, while Stella gasped again.
Once he was done, he climbed down again and stood facing Stella and Bitna who were by the door. "We need to renew the whole security system of this house. It doesn't make any sense that you don't have any sensor on any of your windows. The five cameras around the house are all outside and some of them are not working. The front door's electronic lock is outdated, and the lock on the garage's internal door that opens inside the house is not even connected to the security system. If anyone opens it, the alarm won't go off. The windows of the first-floor rooms, especially the washing room, need to be shielded. The separating wall around the house is not that high and can be jumped easily." He listed his conclusion.
Stella shivered. It never came to her mind that her house had that low security. She always felt safe cause that neighborhood had good security, plus Haewon was always there with her.
"Isn't that extra?" Bitna talked. "You are going to turn the house into a fortress."
"It's the bare minimum, Ma'am. According to what I heard, Ms. Stella's previous house had an intruder who isn't arrested till now. So, that's the least we can do." Changbin reasoned.
"He's right, Bitna." Stella talked quietly. "We can't lower our guards." Stella looked at him. "I agree with you, but can we postpone all the work for next month? I will be abroad so the security team can work in the house as they wish. I don't want them to be moving in and out of my house while I'm here."
Changbin nodded in understanding. "Or I can do the work myself. I will be around the house anyways."
"You?" Stella pointed at him. "You can install the devices and upgrade the system?"
"Although it's not a part of my actual job, I had to learn it." He shrugged. Changbin walked towards the door and exited the bathroom, slamming the door closed behind him.
"Why?" Bitna questioned with narrow eyes.
Changbin sighed and stuffed his hands into the pockets of his pants. "My previous client had no trust in security companies other than the one I worked for. They didn't like the idea of other people installing cameras in their rooms or setting new locks. The company I worked for already had a fully equipped team so we would mostly cooperate in such situations."
"You mean the kids you worked with? The President's kids?" Stella questioned.
Changbin nodded. "Those kids had gone through a lot."
Bitna yawned loudly. The woman was dead tired as it was past her bedtime. "Okay, agreed. Let's discuss it tomorrow." She yawned again and looked at Stella. "You need to sleep, my dear. You have a schedule early in the morning." She turned to Changbin. "And you, Mister, need to head down."
Changbin nodded at her and walked to the door after her.
"Hey," Stella called from behind, stopping Changbin. "Umm, I.. I wanted to apologize for earlier."
Changbin blinked. "For what?"
"This morning when I yelled at you at the hospital. I was just triggered by how the kids were screaming. I know you wanted to help."
"Ah! It's okay." He ruffled the back of his head awkwardly. "I shouldn't've gone that far. I know I already look scary without even being 'green'."
"What? No!" Stella gasped. "You don't look scary at all."
Changbin looked at her with a confused face yet lightened up. "Am I?" He chuckled nervously. "I've always heard that I look scary."
Stella noticed the slight pinkish color that crept up his face. She bit back her chuckle. "Maybe you looked scary earlier today." She smiled at him. "But right now," She looked him up and down. "You look like a neighborhood crush."
