On the other hand, after Yibo left, Gu Wei went straight to A-yuan's room. When he opened the door, he saw the disappointment on A-yuan's face, which he immediately understood. Gu Wei smiled at A-yuan. "It looks like you're not happy to see me" Gu Wei joked, but A-yuan shook his head.
"I understand. Can I sit here?" Gu Wei asked. "Of course, superhero uncle" A-yuan said happily, though he couldn't help glancing at the door, as if waiting for someone. This sight hurt Gu Wei.
"Your dad has something to take care of at the company for a bit" Gu Wei said. "Do you want me to read you a story?" Gu Wei asked. A-yuan was surprised, no one had asked him that before. He scratched his head. "Aren't I too old to be read stories?" He asked shyly. Gu Wei ruffled his hair. "To me, you'll always be a baby, even when you grow up" Gu Wei said with a smile, which made A-yuan look at him.
"That's how it is with my son too. Even though he's grown up, he'll always be my baby" Gu Wei added. As Gu Wei told the story, he couldn't help but ask. "A-yuan, have you ever been angry at your dad?" This question made A-yuan fall silent. "You don't have to answer if you're not comfortable" Gu Wei quickly said, noticing A-yuan's silence. A-yuan smiled at him. "Sometimes" A-yuan said, making Gu Wei smile.
"I'm proud of you" Gu Wei said, unable to help himself. "Huh?" A-yuan asked, puzzled. Gu Wei held A-yuan's hand. "Always remember, it's okay to feel upset with your dad, but never hold a grudge against him, because even if we turn the world upside down, he is still your father" Gu Wei said. A-yuan smiled and nodded.
"I can be mad at Yibo anytime I want, to the point of making things difficult for him, but I won't involve our child. A-yuan is not part of whatever happened between me and Yibo and why we're in this situation. I can hate him, but our child won't" Gu Wei thought.
Elsewhere, when Yibo arrived at the hospital, they went straight to the emergency room, just as the doctor was coming out. The doctor explained that Andro's wounds were just grazes. He needed to take medication and apply cream to his back, in fact, he could be discharged the next day. While the doctor was explaining, Liying was glaring at him to stop talking, but the doctor misunderstood, thinking she had an eye condition, and continued explaining.
"I think you need to see an ophthalmologist, ma'am" The doctor said before excusing himself. Yibo glared at Liying and grabbed her arm, causing her to wince in pain. "Yibo, you're hurting me," Liying said. "You said he was in critical condition, but it turns out he's not. I left A-yuan because of this and what happened to him was even worse. Are you making a fool out of me?" Yibo asked, tightening his grip on Liying's arm, but stopped when his phone rang.
"We're not done yet" Yibo said, releasing her arm, causing her to nearly slip. He stepped away a bit, where he could still see Liying, and answered the call.
"How are the DNA test results?" Yibo asked immediately. "I sent it to your email, along with the background of the man you mentioned. He's a surgeon in Canada, but an accident happened to him to make him unable to perform surgery, so he continued his career as an interior designer" The voice on the other end explained.
"Interior designer? that was Zhan's course then" Yibo muttered to himself. "He's an orphan. Both his parents died when he was young, and he's an only child" the voice continued. "What's his real connection to Lay?" Yibo asked.
"Lay was his patient. One day, your cousin got injured, and it happened that Gu Wei was on duty. That's how they met. I also asked around their workplace; Lay frequently visited the hospital where Gu Wei worked. After the accident, Gu Wei resigned and continued his career as an interior designer" the voice said.
"Okay, thank you," Yibo said, ending the call and immediately checking his email.
"He's not Zhan" Yibo whispered, looking at another DNA test result between Liying and Gu Wei, which still didn't match. "So he's really not Zhan, but why does my heart tell me he is? They have similarities, they also have differences. Zhan is afraid of blood and hates the smell of cigarettes. As for Gu Wei, if he is a surgeon it means he is not afraid of blood and he smokes, the worst is that they have the same face, the difference is, Gu Wei is mature compared to Zhan." Yibo said himself, not noticing Liying approaching. But before Liying could see Yibo's phone, he closed it.
On the other hand, Gu Wei excused himself for a moment. He went to the smoking area, not to smoke but to make a call. "Hello, are you with A-yuan?" Haoxuan asked on the other end of the line.
"Yes" Gu Wei replied briefly, sighing. "I can hear your sigh from here. Is something wrong? You should be happy that you have some time together" Haoxuan said. Gu Wei smiled as if Haoxuan could see him. "I'm very happy to be with him, hoping this day would never end, and I'm also thinking of telling him that he's my son
"What?" Haoxuan asked, shocked. But instead of addressing Haoxuan's surprise, Gu Wei continued speaking. "I don't want him to experience begging for love from people who can't truly love him. I will give him the parental love that Yibo couldn't give him. I'll make him feel like he's the luckiest kid in the world." Gu Wei couldn't hold back his tears. Seeing A-yuan's face earlier and how he kept glancing at the door broke his heart. He wouldn't let his child suffer, it was enough that he himself had suffered.
