Just Another Night

Clocks tick around the dark room,

They scream at her,

Professing her doom.

She flips on the lights,

Her life is a lie,

And every night,

She will stay awake and cry.

She picks up the knife,

But quickly throws it down.

She had made it one week,

Seven days cut free down.

But the addiction is there,

The screaming in her mind,

An intense pain,

A terrible bind.

She pounds her head,

Slouching against the wall.

Now she is alone,

And now she will recall.

She remembers how

Only hours ago,

He hurt her again,

And it still hurts her now.

She wishes she could tell,

Just one soul.

But no one would listen,

So she is trapped in this Hell.

Tonight is just another night,

Just like all the rest.

She struggles in the fight,

Yet her heart pounds on inside her chest.
