Gang Symbol

I'm seeing it everywhere now,

The frightening, hastily drawn spine.

I'm glad it does not belong to me,

And it will never be mine.

I see it carved on the desks,

Scribbled in the hallways,

Everywhere I go,

I see it always.

I hear they're taking up violence,

They've become quite fond of the fights,

Punching, stabbing, shooting,

On many otherwise boring nights.

I'm seeing it more,

It's all around,

The rumors are spreading,

Some new members have been found.

The lonely kids, the rejects,

They just want to be a part of something.

So now they've heard,

About this wonderful family.

Now I've heard what they're doing,

They're burning their toes,

Making them sweat,

Do things no one knows.

"It's not  a big deal,"

"They're just kids having fun,"

Little does anyone know,

The leader is carrying a gun.

With one shot in the night,

I know its been done,

Someone's been killed,

And the gang has only begun.
