Confused Compass

Stop telling me which way to go,

Stop changing your mind when I try.

I've been listening to what you say you "know,"

But everything seems like a lie.

Today I head north,

A good place to go.

But you're screaming at me, "NO!"

For if you go north, there will be too much snow.

Today I head south,

A place I couldn't beat,

But again you scream, "NO!"

For if you go south, there will be too much heat.

Today I head east,

Where it won't be too hot or cold,

But you're still screaming, "NO!"

The east is far too old.

Today I head west,

A place of which many have sung,

Once more, you scream, "NO!"

The west is far too young.

No matter what I do,

It will always be wrong.

No matter what I say,

My speech will always be too long.

Can't you see,

I'm only trying to take your advice?

But every time I do,

You become someone "not nice."

You're angry with me

For what I do,

But all my ideas

Are coming from you.
