Chapter 2

Back at the cabin, Enna and Kevin gathered the team to discuss the recent attack. The atmosphere was tense, each member feeling the weight of the looming threat. Violett and Violace, their expressions serious, listened intently as Enna recounted the details of their encounter with the Herald of the Shadows.

"We need to understand why they're after Scarlett," Enna said, pacing the room. "And what exactly does he mean by 'Child of Prophecy'?"

Kevin nodded in agreement. "We've faced a lot of enemies, but nothing like this. The shadows... it felt different, more powerful."

Violace leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "The shadows seemed to react to Scarlett's presence. There's something special about her, something they want."

Scarlett, sitting quietly in a corner, looked up, her pink eyes wide with a mix of fear and determination. "I don't know why they're after me. I just want to help."

Violett moved to sit beside Scarlett, offering a comforting smile. "We'll figure it out together. You're not alone in this."

Willow, who had been unusually quiet, finally spoke up. "I've read about ancient prophecies and shadow beings in the old texts. Maybe we can find some answers in the library."

Enna nodded, appreciating Willow's suggestion. "Good idea. We need to gather as much information as we can."

As the team prepared to head to the library, Ethan approached Enna, his expression serious. "Enna, what if this is connected to the other strange occurrences we've been experiencing? The glitches, the sudden appearance of powerful enemies... it all seems linked somehow."

Enna considered his words, realizing the gravity of the situation. "You're right, Ethan. We can't ignore the possibility that everything is connected."

The team set out for the library, determination etched on their faces. They knew that finding answers was crucial, not just for Scarlett's safety, but for their own survival.

At the library, the team split up to search for relevant texts. The large, dusty tomes held secrets of the past, ancient prophecies, and tales of shadow beings. Enna and Kevin worked together, combing through old manuscripts and scrolls.

"Look at this," Kevin said, pointing to an old, worn-out page. "It talks about a child with immense power, a beacon of light in the darkness. It says the child's presence would either save the world or bring about its destruction, depending on who harnesses their power."

Enna's eyes widened as she read the passage. "That sounds like Scarlett. But why her?"

Willow, who had been searching nearby, approached with another book. "I found something too. It talks about an ancient conflict between light and shadow, and how a chosen child could tip the balance. The shadow beings seek this child to plunge the world into eternal darkness."

Scarlett's face paled as she listened. "So, they want to use me to bring darkness?"

Violett shook her head firmly. "Not if we have anything to say about it. We'll protect you, Scarlett. We won't let them succeed."

As they continued their research, a sense of urgency filled the room. The shadowy figure from their earlier encounter loomed in their minds, a reminder of the imminent threat.

"We need to be ready for whatever comes next," Kevin said, determination in his voice. "The shadows won't stop until they get what they want. We need to stay ahead of them."

Enna agreed. "We'll find a way to protect Scarlett and stop the Herald. But we need to be prepared for a long battle. This is just the beginning."
