The ritual circle, hastily drawn on the cabin floor, pulsed with a faint, ominous glow. The team gathered around it, tension thick in the air. Each of them knew the stakes, but that didn't make the situation any easier to stomach.
Kevin paced back and forth, his fists clenched and his face a mask of frustration. "Fuck, this better fucking work. I'm not doing this shit for nothing."
Violace, standing still with his arms crossed, let out a sharp breath. "It's gonna work. It fucking has to."
"Yeah? Well, if it doesn't, we're all royally fucked," Willow shot back, running a hand through her hair, clearly exasperated.
"Scarlett, are you sure about this?" Violett asked, her voice tight with worry. "This is some heavy shit, and you're just a—"
"I'm not a fucking kid," Scarlett interrupted, her voice steady despite the fear that flickered in her eyes. "And yes, I'm sure. Let's just get it over with."
"Goddamn it," Violett muttered, rubbing her temples. "We shouldn't be letting a kid do this shit. There's gotta be another way."
"There isn't," Scarlett replied firmly, her voice cutting through the room. "This is the only way, and I'm doing it. So stop fucking questioning me."
Amy, who had been nervously fidgeting with her sleeves, finally spoke up. "We need to be careful. This is dangerous, and we can't afford any mistakes."
"Oh, fuck off, Amy," Violett snapped, her patience clearly wearing thin. "We all know it's dangerous. That's the whole fucking point."
"Enough!" Enna's voice cut through the rising tension like a knife. "We need to stop tearing each other apart. We're all in this together, whether we like it or not."
"Enna's right," Violace said, his tone more controlled. "We have to focus. If we lose our shit now, we're done for."
"Alright, fine, let's just get this fucking ritual over with," Kevin grumbled, crossing his arms.
Willow handed Scarlett the ceremonial dagger, her hand shaking slightly as she did. "You just need to make a small cut on your palm, enough to draw blood. The circle will do the rest."
Scarlett took the dagger without hesitation, her expression unflinching. "Here goes nothing," she muttered, more to herself than anyone else.
As the blade sliced across her palm, the blood began to flow, dripping onto the circle. The lines on the floor flared to life, glowing brighter as the ritual took hold.
"Shit, it's working," Ethan muttered, a mix of awe and fear in his voice.
Scarlett's face paled as the circle started to draw more blood from her hand, the glowing lines pulsing with power. The others watched, horror and hope mingling in their expressions.
"Hold on, Scarlett," Violett urged, her voice tense. "You can do this. Don't let go."
"I'm fine," Scarlett managed, though her voice was weak. "Just... don't let go."
"We've got you," Enna said, her tone softening. "We're right here with you."
The circle flared with an intense light, the energy in the room reaching a breaking point. For a moment, it felt like the entire cabin might collapse under the pressure. Then, as suddenly as it had begun, the light faded, and the circle went dark.
Scarlett collapsed to her knees, breathing heavily. Kevin was at her side in an instant, catching her before she could hit the ground.
"Fuck, that was intense," Kevin muttered, his voice shaking slightly. "You okay, kid?"
Scarlett nodded weakly, leaning into him for support. "Yeah... just tired."
"It's done," Willow said, her voice tinged with relief and exhaustion. "The spell worked. We have the power we need to fight the shadows."
"Great," Violett said, though her tone was far from enthusiastic. "Now we just have to figure out how to use it without getting ourselves killed."
"We'll figure it out," Violace said, his eyes burning with determination. "We don't have a fucking choice."
"Whatever happens next, we're in it together," Enna declared, looking around at the others. "No more bullshit, no more fights. We've got a war to win."
"Yeah, and let's try not to get fucking killed in the process," Ethan added, trying to lighten the mood with a weak smile.
Scarlett managed a small smile, though it was clear she was struggling to stay conscious. "We'll win. We have to."
The others nodded, the weight of what they had just done pressing heavily on their shoulders. They were stronger now, but the shadows were still out there, waiting for them. The battle was far from over, and they knew that the worst was yet to come.
